WonderCon 2012

 WonderCon usually takes place in San Francisco at the Moscone Center.  It is being renovated, so the convention was moved to Anaheim.  WonderCon is referred to as 'the little brother' of Comic-Con, so we decided to check it out today.  It was cool, but definitely not the coolest.  It was a lot smaller than SDCC, and less crowded.  That part was nice.  But it lacked in variety.  There were not a lot of panels, half the number of exhibit booths, and it seemed a little chaotic in the fact that the convention center was also hosting a volleyball tournament and cheer competition.  We got there around 9:30 AM and once we had our badges, we headed straight for the 'Adventuretime' panel.  We got great seats (3rd row) and enjoyed seeing clips from the upcoming season and listening to the silly Q & A session at the end.  

 Next on our list, was hitting the Exhibit Hall.  While we were waiting for the 'Adventuretime' panel, we mapped out what we wanted to see.  We hit all our favorites and even got a free autograph from Stephen Stanton (Capt Tarkin), from The Clone Wars.  He was really nice!

 We ran into Vader and he loved Gav's shirt, so we had to get a picture:

 Our final stop of the day was the Ballroom.  We got in just in time for the 'Snow White and the Huntsman' panel.  Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart were there and shared their experiences and answered questions from the audience.  We got to see an extended trailer and the movie looks awesome!

 We also got to see the 'Battleship' panel.  Alexander Skarsgard and Brooklyn Decker are in the film and Peter Berg is the Director.  We got to see lots of clips and a world premiere trailer of the film.  Gavin loved it and can't wait to see this one!

 Our day ended around 4:30PM.  We were tired, and there wasn't much else going on that we wanted to see.  But we did have a fun day and were glad we checked it out.  Maybe we'll go again next year, maybe not.  But I sure love doing these things with my Bug!

Candace Visit!

 Candace is in Orange County visiting Travis' Mom.  Travis is Candace's BOYFRIEND!!!!

She called and wanted to bring him down to meet us, so yesterday we met up and headed down for some fun in Old Town.  We started the night at Barra Barra for dinner.  That's our favorite place, because there is something that all the kids will eat there!  And their flat bread tacos are DELICIOUS!!!

 I had so much fun getting all caught up with Can and getting to know Travis.  The kids love Candace and had know problem talking with and playing around with Trav.

 We ended the night with a trip to the Mormon Battalion Visitors Center.  That place is so cool!  And Luke was so excited to volunteer in the General Store to get dressed up:

 We love this place!  But it was getting late and past bed times....so Happy Trails!

 Cali loves Candace.  She thinks the Bauer girls are her pretend big sisters.  She rode down with Candace and Travis and had so much fun playing "walkie talkie" with them.  She was a little sad when they left.

It was only a couple of hours, but I'm so glad we fit it in.  Every time I get to spend some time with the Bauer kids...my heart is so happy!

 Yesterday, March 5, 2012, the world was blessed with this little beauty!

Uncle Jeremy and I got to go and visit her and her parents (Gavin and Shawna) tonight.  She is so stinkin' cute and I hogged her for most of the 1 hour+ visit.  Shawna looked great (of course)!  You couldn't tell she just had a baby yesterday.  

 We are so happy for Gav, Shawna and the boys...They got their little girl...their little caboose.  She's also the last of the grand babies on my side of the family.  What a special gift she is.

I Am John Carter

A couple of weeks ago, Gav and I were supposed to attend the Hollywood Premiere of 'John Carter'.  Because of the rain, Gavin's first football practice interfered with our plans.  So, D23 offered us a chance to attend an advanced screening instead, last night...for FREE!  Because we are D23, we got admitted to the theater as soon as we got there.  There was a long line outside with people who had been waiting quite a long time.  We also BOTH won raffles before the start of the movie-Woo Hoo!  We felt pretty darn special.  Then, we got to see the movie.

It was REALLY COOL!  The story was very well done.  It was action-packed, funny and emotional at times.  It was quite violent in parts.  There are a bunch of battle scenes.  I'm not sure if I would take Luke and Brody...but it had everything Gavin likes.  He loved it!  

I liked it lots too!  Go see it...it comes out this weekend!

Friday Night Lights...

 Flag Football Season has begun!

Gav has been wanting to play for the last couple years, and I have just totally dropped the ball.  But this year, a new league has opened up and I signed him up.  He's lovin' it!  He is on the Patriots (that is so difficult to say...), but he has a great group of teammates and an awesome coach.  Last night was his first game and they lost, but he didn't care.  He was just happy to play!

 My kids love this day!  It was Dr. Seuss' Birthday and their school does such a great job making the day fun for all the kids.  They all come home with a goody bag full of fun stuff and tell me all about the stories they got to hear.  Luke loved his pirate story and the fun swag that he got:
