Christian's Home!

I can't remember what day this was in August, but most of the family met down at the airport to welcome Christian home from his mission.  He was originally called to El Salvador and served about 8 months there.  When Covid hit, he was sent home and reassigned to New Jersey.  That is where he finished off his mission.
We were all very excited to welcome him back!
And look at him!

August Covid Update

Covid Sucks.

Vicky's Pep Zoom CAll

My friend Vicky was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in February.  She underwent Chemo for months and then in August had a double mastectomy.  We had a little Zoom Call to cheer her up and send her some good vibes before the surgery.  This has been the hardest year for her.  Luckily, the surgery went well.  The cancer had spread to her lymph nodes and she had to have those removed too.  But she is now cancer free!  She still has months of infusions, but hopefully they will work and she can get back to a happy & healthy life!  I love her and all of these amazing women.  #momsarenotok

The Shot

Well, I broke down and got the Covid Shot.  The prophet came out and urged all that could get it, to get it.  So, I did it.  I wasn't happy about it.  And I had the worst flu like symptoms for 24 hours.  I felt worse than I did when I actually had Covid.  But it's done.

The Pre-Season begins

Someone is very excited to cheer on his favorite player this season-

49ers Training Camp

Last stop on our CA NFL TRAINING CAMP TOUR was the best one-  San Francisco Baby!
On Friday 8/6, we drove up to Santa Clarita and stayed right across the street from Levi's Stadium!
When I was checking in, I asked the clerk if we could get a stadium view room.  He hesitated and then I told him that I drove my son up from San Diego to watch training camp.  So, he caved and gave us one!

That night, we went to a 49er diner for dinner, The Canyon Inn.
The place was covered in 49er sports memorabilia and I got to color a pic of "The Catch".

After our fun, yummy dinner, we watched college football and SportsCenter until bed time!
Saturday 8/7-
Training Camp Day!

Funny story, we are waiting in line and get up to the gate, when the security lady tells Brody that he can't bring in his football.  WTH?!  Lame!  So we start to walk back to the hotel, but then I spot some cones in the parking lot off to the side.  So, we hid his football in one of the cones and it was there when we were done.  Phew!
This stadium is beautiful.  We walked around and visited the Team Store.  I got some stickers and Brody got a football.
Then we grabbed some seats down close to the field.

For the next 2 hours, we watched the players practice.

Some of the players gave their gloves and stuff and signed autographs to people who walked down to the field.  Brody waited so patiently until every single player had gone into the locker room.  We were the last ones to leave.

A couple of these pics posted out of order, but here we are about to leave the stadium.  What a great day!  We loved it!
Then we made the 8 hour drive home.  Are we crazy?  Yes!  But what a memory!

Chargers Suck!

We attended the Rams training camp on Saturday July 31st.  On Tuesday 8/3, we were scheduled to attend the Chargers training camp in Costa Mesa.  I received an email the week earlier that we would need to have a negative Covid test to enter the practice facility.  So, we went to Walgreens over the weekend and got our tests done.  We didn't get the results until TUESDAY AFTERNOON!!  And of course they were negative.  So, we missed the camp.  I hate this new normal.
Side note:  We didn't need any proof of anything or a mask at the Rams camp.

Beauty and the Beast at the Moonlight

I minister to the best sisters!  And we have been getting together once a month and having dinner.  For August, we did dinner at the Moonlight and watched Beauty and the Beast!  Love these girls!
Alexis, Erica and Rhiannon.
