More Summertime Fun!

A Serious Apples 2 Apples Game!
This past week has FLOWN by!  Whoosh!  Last Tuesday, we inherited Chloe.  Her mom and dad are in Europe with Sarah on a band tour.  (Luckies!!!)  We spent our days filled with swimming, beach and play time!  On Thursday, we were running low on money to play, so these kids headed out to the driveway and crushed 4 bags of recycling.  We made $38!  Oh Yeah!
Thursday night, I got to accompany Cali and Nana to see "Wicked" at the San Diego Civic Theater.
These 2 had never seen it and loved it!
It was such a great show and we had such a great night!
Then, on Friday, we met up with the grandparents and Carter & Chloe and saw the early bird showing of-
Beautifully Fun!
I loved this movie.  I want to see it again so bad!  The animation was so beautiful and the story was so touching.  It also made me laugh & cry!  It was lunchtime after the movie, so we split up and had Subway and Pizza for lunch-

Gammy, Papa & Carter took off and the rest of us headed to the Ranch for some fun!  Gav had fun helping Papa with the retaining wall, while the rest of us swam!

Saturday and Sunday were packed full of fun as well!  But I will put those in a separate post!  It's been a crazy fun summer so far!  Can't wait for more....

Fathers Day Weekend

Let me start by saying, that when it comes to Fathers, I am extremely blessed!  I have an amazing dad, a wonderful father-in-law and the bestest husband & father of my children.  I spent the whole weekend trying to share with them that love and appreciation I have for each of them.
It started Friday night....I took my dad out for a daddy/daughter date.  This is our 3rd Annual Fathers Day Date (I think....).
We went and saw-

It was such a fun movie and perfect for Fathers Day!  I won't spoil it....but there's a special "Fatherly" moment in the movie.  I loved seeing it with my dad.  He's so funny and yells out and laughs and talks during the movie.  It made me happy that he enjoyed it so much too!  After the movie, we went to Five Guys for dinner.  We had never been there before.  It was pretty good....but I loved hanging out with my dad and just talking to him.  So many times during the night, my eyes teared up.  He truly is amazing and I can't believe he's my dad!  I am so thankful my Father in Heaven sent me to him.  I am so glad I get to have these moments with him.  These are memories I cherish... (sniff, sniff).
On Saturday, the kids and I began our spoiling of our own daddy.  Jeremy got to go surfing with his buddies at Black's.  He had the best time!  He got to ride with my dad and they grabbed Denny's on the way back.  I love that my hubby and my dad like hanging out with each other!  When he got home, he just hung out with the kids and read his book, while Cali and I went out and got his presents.  Then we loaded up the van and went to Daddy's soccer game to cheer him on!  They were several men down and lost 10-0....but oh well!  We were all there and that was awesome!  After his game, he got to take his dad out on a date.  They went and saw a movie....
They said it was "very sci-fi".  Very similar to "Aliens" and was "cool".
Sunday-FATHERS DAY!!!
The kids and I were up at 7 AM, to make daddy his special breakfast in bed...
Cinnamon French Toast, Hash Browns, Eggs, Bacon, Milk and OJ.  The kids went in singing "Happy Fathers Day to You...." and woke the old man up!  Then jumped up on the bed to give him their homemade cards and gifts.  Cali got him a book full of things they can do together.  The boys got him a cool book too- Vader and Son.  I got him a gift card to Lowe's, so he can get a new weed whacker.  I wanted to get him one myself....but that was just too hard!
We had a wonderful morning at church.  Percy and Rolayne Harris spoke and it was so special.  My parents and Jeremy's parents were both there and the kids sang their Daddy songs!  I have decided that I LOVE Fathers Day too!  After church, we just relaxed, watched movies and took 2 naps!  And it's great to have a daughter who makes cookies....

 One of daddy's naps-
Jer wanted to BBQ for dinner, so we made bacon cheese burgers and chips w/ clam dip.  AND we got dad some Dr. Pepper 10!  And as Luke and Brody would say- "not for woman!"
We have been enjoying Cali's cookies all evening and now the kids are all playing UNO w/ their dad.  I'm so glad my kids get to have this man as their father.  He is the greatest husband and daddy to our family!  I'm glad we got to have this day to celebrate him!
WE LOVE YOU DADDY!

My Worst Nightmare...NOT!!!

Grocery shopping with kids is NOT my most favorite thing to do.  I avoid it at all costs!  But, yesterday, both Gavin & Cali were gone, so these 2 had to come with me to the store.  I decided to make 2 lists.  1 for Luke...1 for Brody.
It was great!  They had so much fun...and so did I!  I just followed them around with the cart as we went aisle by aisle.  They took their jobs very seriously and we were able to stick to the lists!  They were so good and as we were walking to the car, they both said "That was so much fun!"

Summertime Refreshments

Cali and her friends Mia (& Riley) and Kayla....decided they wanted to make some money this summer.  So they planned a lemonade and cookie stand.  They planned out the dates and even made a flyer.  They passed the flyers out the last week of school.  Tuesday was their first day and they made $11. Today was Day 2 and they made $27!  Look at 'em go-

Luke was the customer that helped them hit their $20 mark!  So he got a prize-
The 4 little entrepreneurs.....Aren't they cute?

So Long 7th Grade!

 It's OVER!
Today was Gav's last day of school!  Yesterday they had an end of the year BBQ at Moonlight Beach and I got to go too!  These were the only 2 pics he let me take.  I can't believe he will be in the 8th Grade!

Mom Date Night

June 14, 2012
I finally got to take my mom out for her Mothers Day date last night.  I really wanted to take her to Charming Charlie and then to dinner.  Someone had told me there was a new store at North County Fair.  So, I went on the website to make sure.  The store was listed on the site, so off we went.  We got there only to find out that the store is not open yet!  It will be ready in 2 weeks!!!  DOH!  Dangit!  Oh well.... it turns out, she needed to look for some stuff at the mall anyway.  We did get to have a nice dinner at Panera and it was fun looking at all the shops in the mall.  I have not been there in years!  And as an added bonus, we ran into Gav, Shawn & Camille!  They jumped out and surprised us in JC Penney!  That was very cool!  It was a great night.  I'm so glad I get to have and make special memories with my mom.  She means so much to me. AND-she also cut my hair this week...SEE?  I really like it!  I'm a very blessed girl!

The 1st Weekend of Summer

I LOVE SUMMER!!!
Technically, it's not REALLY Summer yet, with Gavin still being in school and all..BUT-  I let him stay home on Friday and we got started on our summer time fun early!  First up-we went to see
It was ridiculously fun!  I still like the first two better, but this was so fun and the music too!  I was singing "Circus Afro" all day!  Jeremy left early Friday morning to join his brothers and flew to surprise Becky for Milo's blessing.  Nana and Papa are already there, so we headed over to "The Ranch" to feed the animals and take care of the pool-
Oh Yeah!
It was so nice....I actually got to lay out and read my book while the kids swam and watched movies.  We only stayed a few hours, cause we had to get back for Cali's recital.  But it was such a nice day!
Saturday, we returned to "The Ranch" and took care of the animals and pool ALL DAY!  Katrina, Aidan, Lily and Ben came over to play and so did Adam, Jen, Henry and Ruby.  We had so much fun and the kids were in the pool for like 6+ hours!  We got home around 7, ate a late dinner and got all clean for church the next day.  I was really starting to miss this guy-
Uncle Jeremy and Milo
Sunday was a great day too!  I don't have any pics....but we hung out with Aunt Meish at "The Ranch", making cookies and birthday cards for Papa.  Then we headed to Oside to have dinner and a movie with Gammy and Papa.
It is now Monday and I'm home watching this little angel today-

I get to watch her 2 days a week for the month of June!  It's going to be a nice regular day and I can't wait to see my hubby when he gets home tonight!

Cali's Piano Recital 2012

Cali loves playing the piano!  And I love that she loves playing!  Tonight was the Annual Sister Frame Piano Recital at the church.  She played 2 songs and I guess she messed up a bunch (according to her), but I didn't notice-

This is her 3rd Certificate-
And she LOVES her teacher:

And, to honor our after party tradition, we made a Frutto's run for some frozen yogurt.  This time, we were joined by Destiny and her family!
Yay Cali!

Kindergarten Promotion

Didn't I just do the First Day of School Post?  WOW!  It's over!  Brody had such a great year!  He was blessed with such a great teacher (Mrs. Robinson), made such great friends (Max & Mitchell) and excelled so well and learned so much!  We are so proud of him!  Here are some highlights from his "promotion" today:

After the ceremony, we headed to IHOP (of course) for brunch!  Gammy got Brody a pack of fortune cookies and $10!
 Thanks Gammy!  (& Papa!)
Promotion + Pancakes = A Fantastic Day!  Yay!

Dinner and a movie...

For Christmas, Maya and her kids got me a gift card for Cineopolis.  We wanted to use it for our Anniversary, but there wasn't any movies we really wanted to see that weekend.  But this movie came out this past weekend-
Pretty (&) Cool!
We broke out the gift card and had ourselves a wonderful night!
We got all cozy in our RECLINER seats.  Then we ordered a delicious dinner while the previews played.  Jeremy had a yummy burger and I had steak sliders and sweet potato fries- Oh Yeah!  We got to enjoy our dinner, while we enjoyed the movie.  It was a really cool movie!  It was very well done, the locations and cinematography were beautiful!  The casting was well done too!  When it was over... I did not want to leave!
I was so comfy in my chair.....I could have totally rolled on over and fallen asleep for the night.  This is a great way to watch movies.  Too bad it's so dang expensive!  We won't be doing this again without a gift card.
