You Can't Stop the Beat!

 Tuesday 11/16
Broadway SD opened back up finally and we went opening night to see Hairspray!
It's one of Cali's favorites and it was so much fun and so well done!  So glad we get to go to musicals again!  We missed them.

Brody's 1st NFL Game

Brody has been wanting to go to an NFL game for a while.  And this year I told him that I would make that happen.  Back in September I looked at the schedule to see if his favorite team, the Carolina Panthers were going to play at all in California.  Nope!  The closest they were playing was Arizona.  So, I got tickets to the Cardinals v. Panthers game on the November 14th and decided we would road trip it!

And then guess what happened?!?!
Cam Newton is Brody's favorite player.  He was let go from the Panthers at the end of the 2019 season.  He was picked up by the Patriots (Boo!).  Then, in September, a couple days before the regular season started, he was cut from the team.  Brody was heartbroken.  Fast forward to literally the week before we are supposed to go to Arizona and the Panthers re-sign Cam Newton and his first game back would be this Sunday!!!!!  NO FREAKING WAY!!!!!
We hopped in the car Saturday morning (11/13) and made it to Arizona in the afternoon.  After a nap and some dinner from in n out, we stopped by Michael's and made these amazing signs.  We woke up to a beautiful day on Sunday and got to the Stadium 4 hours early!  Pretty much the first car in the parking lot!
We sat in the car for an hour or so, before heading to the gates.  We were one of the first ones in when the gates opened 2 hours before the game!  We ran straight to the visitor's tunnel to see the team come out and warm up.  As soon as we got our spot, Cam ran right by us!  I thought Brody was going to pass out!
We got to see everyone on the team and cheer them on!  And they loved our signs!
We were able to be right above the Offensive Huddle as they got ready to run out for the game!

Cam Baby!

We had to go up to our real seats when the game started.  They were up high, but we had a great view.

3rd Drive of the game, they put Cam in as QB.  We lost it!  And HE RAN IT IN FOR A TD!!!  This could not have been a more magical moment for Brody!  And me!  Such a rad memory!
He continued to go in as QB throughout the game and threw 2 more touchdowns.  We were able to run back down to the tunnel and sit there in the 4th qtr and stayed there until the end of the game.  We got to cheer on everyone as they returned to the locker room!  We were pumped!
We were on such a high after this game and it was a good thing too!  We hopped in the car and headed home.  The drive wasn't bad at all.  We were so happy!  I love that I was able to have this experience with Brody!  It is unforgettable!

Veterans Day 2021

It was a beautiful one this year!  Papa has a caregiver that watches Nana on Thursdays.  So, he got to join us at the beach!  I love November Beach Days.  And thank you Veterans!

Melchizedek Priesthood

Well, now that Luke's papers have been submitted, he need to be ordained an Elder.  On Sunday, November 7, 2021, he received the Melchizedek Priesthood from his dad, brother, and Grandpas.  It was a very special day for our family!

The Breast Cancer 1 Day

My beautiful friend Vicky was diagnosed with Breast Cancer earlier this year and has been fighting her butt off to beat it.  October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and we helped to raise a bunch of money for research in her honor.

In November, Yvonne, Jeremy and I joined Vicky's team and did the 5K in Balboa Park.  She wasn't feeling up to the walk, so we walked with her kids and some other friends.  It was pretty special.

Cancer Sucks!  The Hell she has been through this year trying to get rid of this stupid disease is just awful.  But she has fought it so bravely and I am so glad to report that she is now cancer free!  Take that Cancer!

Disney Ditch Day!

It has been a while since we had one of these!
And Luke and Cali submitted their papers, so we needed to get in a Disney day before they leave for their missions!
So, early in November, we let Brody miss school and off we went for a fabulous day!
They made us wear masks on rides again.  Because I guess Covid is still a thing (whatever!)

It was such fun day, just us.  I will miss these while my middles are gone.

Halloween Sunday

Halloween fell on Sunday in 2021.
It was also the Primary Program, so things were a little different than usual.
But I did get the family some fun skeleton puzzle sugar cookies-

I let Brody go to Cool Gavin's to help take the little sister's trick r treating.  They were funky fish-

That night, we went over to Ben & Meish's and watched their house and handed out candy while they took the girls trick r treating.

These 2 celebrated their 1 year wedding anniversary!
I got them tickets to see Danny Elfman perform the "Nightmare Before Christmas" in LA.  Billie Eilish and Weird Al were also part of the performance.  They were stoked!  They dressed up as Victor and Emily from Corpse Bride.

Trunk r Treat

It has been my dream for some time to get a group together and be the Spice Girls for Halloween.  This year, that dream came true!

My trunk turned out so good this year!
My favorite costume of the night was the Benny Robot-
Rainbow Unicorn and little Jack were pretty cute too!
I am so grateful for Meish (Baby Spice), Jen (Posh Spice) and Kaci (Sporty Spice), for making my Spice Girls dream a reality.  We looked awesome!
