FINALLY!!!!
I wanted to go to Vegas and see Britney's show for my 40th. BUT, I decided to get pregnant instead. Last year, Jeremy wasn't feeling it. But this year, he said we could go! I was so excited!
Last Thursday, after Brody's flag football game, we loaded up and headed to Vegas. We left later than I had planned, so we didn't get there until midnight. We stayed at The Palazzo. The room I booked, a deluxe king suite, was not available in non-smoking, when we arrived. But the weird lady that checked us in, gave us a strip-view upgrade, non-smoking, double queen room on the 19th floor. It was lovely!
We slept in on Friday and then headed to the pool...
We got a great spot at the pool and then grabbed some food from the poolside cafe...
This was my view for 6 hours...
It was a really good day!
We got all spiffy and had one of the best dinners of my entire life!
We ate at a restaurant at our hotel called the Yardbird. We had what the server recommended, Fried Green Tomato BLT for appetizer...
And then we shared the Chicken n Watermelon n Waffles! It was delightful!
The server surprised me with a yummy fried twinkie, fried oreo and ice cream dessert!
After our bellies were full, we walked along the strip to the Planet Hollywood Hotel for the concert.
Just 10 days prior, the worst mass shooting on US soil happened in Vegas. Everywhere we went, we were greeted with the hashtag, #VegasStrong...
Here's Jeremy anxiously awaiting the start of the show-
AND THEN IT STARTED! AND IT WAS AMAZING!!!
There were only a couple songs that I didn't recognize. The sets, dancers and costumes were awesome!
It's too blurry in this pic. But this was at the end of "Circus". The dancers line up and are suppose to spell out Circus on some cards. Well, they lined up wrong and spelled out Riccus! Ha Ha!
This was Toxic and it was Cool!-
She ended with "Til the World Ends."
I loved it!
We got a great night's sleep Friday night, slept in and then checked out of our lovely hotel. I will miss it!
But I won't miss anything else. Vegas is not my favorite place. But we ate great! We grabbed some burgers from Holsteins and I got to watch the Michigan game. Which, btw, we beat Indiana in OT!
Tried to gamble...
But by 2PM, we were done and ready to go. We didn't want to head home just yet though. So we took a little detour and headed out to Red Rock and went for a nice drive and hike to breathe in some fresh air and enjoy nature!
So glad we decided to make this stop. It was gorgeous and a wonderful way to end the weekend. We got on the road around 5 and were home before 10 with no traffic! I loved my Britney Birthday Weekend! Thanks for taking me Honey!
