LDS Conf Kick Off

This time, we stayed home to watch the Womens Broadcast.  And it was wonderful!
After, we got to attend a baptism for a new YW, Julie.  Kaci went with us and she rewarded us Peppertree after.  It was a great Saturday!

We made bread! From Scratch!! For Reals!!!

This year, our ward has been giving members the opportunity to bake the Sacrament bread.  Cali signed up to do Sunday September 27th.  I have never made bread from scratch (breadmaker does not count).  I looked up an easy recipe on Pinterest and Cali and I spent part of our afternoon mixing, kneading, punching and waiting!
VOILA!
It turned out perfect!  And it was easy.  We will definitely be doing this again...it was DELICIOUS!

Cali's 1st Middle School Dance

Aloha!
Cali has never had much interest in attending a school dance.  This year she is on ASB and has to go.  And since she has to go and help, so do I.  And we had a blast!

Fall

Its Fall!!  Can you tell?  Nope?  Me neither!  Its been 90+ and HOT!  But luckily, I've been having to go down to La Jolla for medical reasons every Friday.  So, this past Friday, I took advantage of being down there and went to read my book at the Torrey Pines Glider Port.  There's a cute little bench right on the cliff and I sat and read and enjoyed the view.  Then the Cliffhanger Cafe opened up and I decided to grab lunch and stay longer.  It was a wonderful way to spend this beautiful Fall Day!

Staff Day

Yesterday, Gavin's school had a Staff Day.  So that meant we needed to go to Disneyland...right??
The other kids still had school.  We dropped them off and and got to have 3 hours at the park.  We ate lunch, rode all the single rider rides and Star Tours.
Here we are on Indiana Jones-
And we grabbed some Dole whip on our way out...
It was a quick, but very fun day!  I loved spending this time with my Bug.  We made it back in time to grab the sibs from school!
Can't wait for the next Staff Day :-)

A Super Saturday

Saturday was super busy and super fun!
First, I got to help the Bronsons out, by taking the girls to their soccer games, so that Kaci could go to a Field Hockey tournament.  I had a blast cheering them on and BB got her first win.  When I got back, we got to babysit the G Man, while Cass & Marsh celebrated their birthdays with a day at the beach, just the 2 of them.  We had so much fun helping our friends and playing with our favorite little people.  This guy never stops!

I love, love, love the time we get to spend with this kid!

The Natural History Museum

Yesterday, I got to chaperone the 4th grade field trip to the San Diego Natural History Museum in Balboa Park.  It was a beautiful day!
I don't think I have ever been here before and it was awesome!

The kids were able to go through the "Fossils Mysteries" exhibit...

Mrs. Lee, the science teacher is so great.  She ligned up an appointment with the fossil lab at the museum.  The kids got to see fossils that they have found from all over San Diego County.
They found these at the San Marcos High School Construction site-
Then we got to go see a "live dig" kind of, in the lab, of a Bison they found in Carlsbad...

Next, we broke up into smaller groups and took a tour through the "Coast to Cactus" exhibit.  We learned about the native plants and animals in our area...

It was such a fun day!  The kids loved it!  I'm so glad I get to go on these "field work" trips with my kids!  HTENC 4th Graders-

A Rainy (kind of) Disney Ditch Day

Since our passes were blocked all summer, it was time to have a ditch day now that they are working again!  Yesterday, I drove, very slowly and carefully threw pouring rain to Anaheim.  When we parked, the rain stopped and the sun came out!  It was an absolutely awesome day!
We got to do everything we wanted...(mostly...I wanted to ride Peter Pan, but the kids didn't want to wait the hour wait...whatever!)
Here's the Space Mountain "Ghost Galaxy" Crew-
 Castle Shot!
 Lunch at Geppeto's-
Disneyland was all decked out for Halloween.  And our last ride was the Haunted Mansion (thank goodness for Fast Passes!)
Gavin was actually feeling yucky most of the day.  His stomach was giving him issues, so we left around 4:00.  Disneyland was sad that we were leaving, because it started to rain again as we left the park.  We stopped at Souplantation on the way home for dinner and let the traffic go away.
I had such a great day with my kiddos.  I love hanging out with "The Team".  I love days like these.

FHE at a new beach

My mom and dad are camping at San O for the Hurley Pro.  We headed up for dinner and FHE on Monday night.  The view was incredible...

Back to Football

So, it has been an interesting off season for the 49ers.  We fired Harbaugh (and I was sad...), The Defensive Coordinator, Jim  Tomsula, got hired as Head Coach.  We lost a bunch of players (Justin Smith...sniff, sniff...Frank Gore, Aldon Smith, Michael Crabtree, etc...) to either retirement, suspensions, or free agency. Kaep spent his off season training with Kurt Warner and the pre- season was just OK.  But this week, we met up with the Vikings for MNF!  The first MNF of the regular season.  AND WE DOMINATED!!!!  Navarro Bowman was back with 6+ sacks and Carlos Hyde made us realize, we will be just fine without Frank Gore!  We won 20-3!  This looks good SF!

I am so ready for some (49er) Football!

Happy Birthday Cass!

Cass had her birthday on Sunday.  I got to take her and the G Man to Yellow Deli on Friday to celebrate!  I absolutely love that she lives so close and that we get to spend time together!

Meeting Baby Jane

 Another Quick Road Trip!
On August 26th, Candace gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Jane Millie McKinnon.  I was supposed to go up for the shower a couple of weeks ago, but then Jeremy decided to break his leg.  So, Cali and I decided to head up for Labor Day Weekend and meet our new little princess!  I let her ditch school on Friday.  After we dropped the boys off at school, we started our trek to Utah!  Look what we found in Barstow....
So Excited!!!
We didn't have a hard time with traffic at all and made it to Lehi and "Hotel Harris" by 9.  We had so much fun hanging out with Harry and Stella and talking and laughing until late that night.  Then we were up at 8AM on Saturday so that we could meet up with Can, Cass and the babies in Heber.  Candace was feeling good and dying to get out of the house.  She wanted to go out check out Swiss Days in Midway-
She may have overestimated her ability to be out walking, with thousands of people, and a storm looming....so we only lasted about 15-20 minutes there.  Instead, we found a cute little mexican restaurant and got lunch.  Cali was so excited to get some one-on-one time with her boyfriend-
Cass had to get back to Salt Lake, so Cali and I stayed and kept our girls company all day.  We did alot of this-

I also helped.  I took the dog for a walk, went grocery shopping and made dinner.  We spent the whole day with Can and the baby and then made it to "Hotel Bauer" around 10.  We got the big guestroom and we were so excited to sleep in the big bed and get a good night's sleep!

I slept horrible!  I hate Utah!  My nose gets so dry and then gets stuffed up when I try to sleep.  I tossed and turned all night and woke up exhausted.  But look at this view?
We slowly got up and went to church with Kev.  Cali and I only stayed for Sacrament and then back to Kev's to change and get lunch.  We thought about spending the day visiting other friends/family, but we headed back to Can's because more visitors were there and we wanted to see them.
I haven't seen June in a while.  Here she is with her granddaughter...
 Auntie Trini!!!
I love it every time I get to see Shirley and I love this pic!
4 Generations
Once again, we just hung out all day and did this-

 Milk Drunk-
We just relaxed and visited and just enjoyed our time with this family.  I love them so much and am so glad we made the time to be there and see them.  They mean so much to me and I feel privileged that I get to be a part of their lives.
Monday morning, Labor Day, we drove home.  It was long, bad traffic, and we almost died a couple of times.  But it was so worth it!  I love these little excursions we get to have together!
