Luke's First POL

This morning was Luke's first ever POL.  He was up extra early and had his outfit all picked out.  He had practiced on us the night before and at 8:10 AM, he made his presentation to his peers and his teachers.  He did great!  He put together such a great power point...

I was so proud of him because I know how challenging this was for him, but he didn't show it.  He has really learned and grown so much this year!

Potato Chip Rock

Monday was MLK Jr. Day.  And it was also the day of our Combined YM/YW Activity.  They picked hiking to Potato Chip Rock.  Now that Jeremy has a calling in YM, we both had to go.  Which meant, all of our kids had to come too!  I actually didn't do the hike.  I was in charge of shuttling cars from the start point to the end point.  So, I didn't get any pictures.  Brother Summers got this one of Brody on the rock, because he was the first one up!  Hopefully he will get me the rest of the pics he took and I can upload some more.

Mustang Band @ Disneyland

So, because Cali is in Mustang Band, they got invited to play with the RBVHS Band at Disneyland!!!!  She was so excited and Saturday was THE day!  She got to ride up with the band on the bus, while Luke & I met them up there.  It was a crowded Saturday, so Gavin & Brody didn't want to go.  But Lukey is my Disneyland Boy and I'm so glad he was my date for the day.  Cali was off with her friends most of the day.  So Lukey and I did all the stuff he likes to do.  We started with lunch at Gepetto's and then our first ride...
He is not the biggest lover of all the rides and loves to just walk around, take in the sights and the shows...

We did get some glances at the girls throughout the day...

Our only fast pass ride was Star Tours...

And we met up with the band in Toon Town before they went backstage to get ready...

While the band was getting ready, the first parade was going on, so we walked right onto Small World...
Then we got some drinks and pretzels and our spot on the parade route.  We waited for 1 1/2 hours...
Then it was RBV's turn to walk down the parade route!!!
I yelled and screamed and was so excited for all of these kids.  They went by so fast, I couldn't really see anyone, so I kept snapping pics and found this after...
 Hi Mr. Fennell!!!
Cali had such a fun experience and Luke & I stayed in our spot for the parade.  The Frozen float freaked Luke out...
After the parade we headed to Adventureland for the tiki room, of course...

And then we met up with Cali to head home.
We got to watch the fireworks before we left and even saw a couple get engaged!  It was a very fun, very long day.  I'm so glad I got to see my Angel play with the High School band at Disneyland!
Making Memories...

Super Smash Bros Tournament

Friday nights at HTHNC are pretty crazy.  No sports teams playing, but the Gamer Club puts on Video Game tournments.  This past Friday night was the Super Smash Bros Tourney.  Gav didn't make it to the finals, but Jeremy and I had fun watching the kids get totally into it!  It was really fun!

Field Hockey Begins

Here we go again!  Field Hockey started last week and Cali is on Team B again with her buddies & Chloe.  She has the same coach too, Caitlin!  She loves playing this sport and they won the first 2 games last week.  3-0 over Potter and 2-0 over her best buddy Mia and the Vista Magnet team!

#takeahike

Its the weekend, so of course, that means Mama Mia/Felipe/Mia was at our house.  Jeremy didn't want to spend the day watching the NFL Playoffs with me.  He wanted to get out of the house and do something!  These 2 little adventurers wanted to get out too.  So they got ready, made labels that read "#takeahike, filled their water bottles and went out to Calaveros Lake in Oceanside.  They hiked to the Ocean Overlook...

And they even found a magical garden!
They all had so much fun!
Thanks Daddy!

Happy New Year!

Wednesday night was New Years Eve!  No Rose Parade this year.  I was a little sad at first, but then I heard how cold it would be on the street and counted my blessings that I would be warm at home! Cali had babysitting plans, but they got cancelled.
Jeremy and I had been invited to a party, but opted to hang out at home with the kids.  Gavin invited Hunter over for dinner.  I made a feast!

Jeremy took Hunter and Gavin to the New Years Eve Dance and then we had our own little dance party at home.  We even made our own hats-

The kids all fell asleep way before midnight.  But we stayed up and waited for Gav to get home.  We watched Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year and watched the ball drop in Times Square.  Then we kissed!!!  Just like we did 19 years ago at the Rose Parade, right before he asked me to marry him!  It was a nice, comfortable, loving New Year!  It was a great way to end this amazing year.  2014 was good to us!  I hope 2015 is too!
Happy New Year!

SNOW!

It Snowed...at our house...on New Years Eve Day!
NO WAY!
It wasn't sticking, but it was coming down in little we flakes!  We were so excited that we ran outside to play in it...

 See the flakes???

It was snowing, for reals, in our backyard...we were stoked!
