NYE

 I spent most of the day on airplanes and in airports.  I got in around 7PM and got dinner at Albertaco's.  We just sat around watching tv and everyone was a little bummed that we weren't doing anything fun.  So, I hopped up and made these beautiful hats.  Popped some popcorn and got out the candy!  We watched the totally weird and uneventful ball drop and yelled "Happy New Year"!

I tried to make it as fun and happy as I possibly could, but everyone was feeling a little down.  And I don't blame them.  What is there to look forward to?  Everything is still on lockdown.  No start of school in site!  But as I look at these pics, I realize that we are so blessed and so grateful to have each other.  As long as we have got our family, we will be able to go through anything.

Heres hoping 2021 is a happy year!

Grandma Fell!

 A couple days before Christmas, Grandma got knocked over and broke her arm and leg!  She had to have surgery on the leg and lost her ability to swallow.  Things weren't looking too good and she was refusing a feeding tube and any kind of long term care.  So, it was decided that she would go home and be on hospice and take her chances.  My parents went up the weekend after Christmas.  I had to see her, so I hopped on a plane on Monday the 28th and went to see her!  I got there right after she arrived home.  She couldn't move, but she was so happy to be out of the hospital.  We all worked together to get her as comfortable as possible.  I taught her some swallowing exercises and my mom got her hair washed.  We spent the next 4 days keeping her spirits up, feeding her and keeping her company.

I was able to stay up in Park City with The Medeiros!  And every morning I would get my kid fix!

I flew home on New Years Eve day.  Grandma was getting better at her swallowing and feeling a little bit stronger.  I was so glad that I was able to be there and help and cheer her on.  I hope she beats this and we get to keep her a little longer.  I loved this bonus time that I got to spend with loved ones.

The Kids' Christmas

 Gavin and Kristin wanted their own special Christmas, just the 2 of them.  So, the Sunday after Christmas, they came over to celebrate with us!

December 26th

 Cali needed some Vitamin Sea, so we headed to the beach and enjoyed the day!

We also found mermaid corsets!

That night we came home and watched "the Nutcracker"!

 She's 19!!

After we put away the Christmas presents, we broke out the Happy Birthday Cali banner and launched into Birthday mode!

I made smoothies for breakfast, fruit and cinnamon rolls.  I also made bacon!  I had a charcuterie board delivered and we snacked and watch movies.

Then it was present time!

For dinner, I made her request of shredded pork tacos!

And Chloe came!

I also made her french silk pie-

And she got some sweet gifts from her grandparents!

We played games and her and Chloe ate ice cream from the carton and watched "Newsies"!

We love celebrating this Christmas Angel!

Christmas 2020

 Merry Christmas!

The kids didn't get up until 7 AM!  Hallelujah!

Santa Came!

It was just a sweet, chill and lovely morning, just our little family.  It was perfect!

Cali and I were not able to go to the Nutcracker this year.  Curse you Covid!  But my sweet girl got me a Nutcracker for Christmas and reserved the tv for the following evening so that we could watch it!  I love her!

That afternoon, we hopped onto Zoom for a Granny Christmas!

Nana & Papa came over with gifts!

Then Gammy & Papa came over with more gifts!

Even El Guapo got one!

We had shredded pork tacos for dinner.  Chloe and Mark came and joined us.  We spent the night playing games and watching movies.

Not the most exciting, adventurous, packed family Christmas, but it was wonderful!
