Off to Disneyland & a Galaxy Far Far Away!

OK.
We have been anxiously waiting for the completion of "Star Wars Land" at Disneyland.  It was revealed earlier this year that it would open in May and would be called "Galaxy's Edge".  Disney announce that for the first 30 days after opening, you could only get into the land with a reservation.  I thought, well, it will probably be impossible to get a reservation, so we will just wait until September and go when school starts and not need a reservation.  Right?!
Well, the day the reservations went live, I got an alert on my phone and thought, hmmm, maybe I should just try??  And so I did and within 5 minutes I was on the site and it was asking me when I wanted to go!  I panicked!  Gav was home and I asked him what to do.  He said to go for it!  So I did.  And I was able to get the whole family reservations for the June 9th!  I was so excited until I realized, that meant I needed to purchase 6 tickets to Disneyland on a Sunday!  That was alot of money.  So, I talked to Jeremy and asked if we should go through with it.  We couldn't cancel our reservation and all reservations sold out in 15 minutes!  We decided to do it and use the money we spent on tickets toward annual passes.
Sunday, June 9, 2019, we went to Disneyland as a family and got there right when it opened at 9 AM.
Our reservation wasn't until 2 PM, so we spent the morning riding as many rides as possible.  And we got to ride them all!  The park was empty!  It was amazing!
 We also got beignets..
 And Watermelon mint julep!
We had so much fun running around the park and pretty much walking on to every ride!

At noon, we were able to go to Star Wars Launch Bay and get our wristbands to enter Galaxy's Edge!
By Noon, the park was starting to fill up with people and it was getting HOT!  But we just relaxed and took our time and enjoyed every yummy minute!
At 2:00 PM, we lined up with a couple hundred other crazy Star Wars fans over by the Hungry Bear Cafe.  We were escorted down the path to Galaxy's Edge by costumed cast members.  As we rounded the corner into Galaxy's Edge, you could see the banners of Batuu and here the music playing.  We were greeted by the citizens of Batuu "Bright Suns!"
Chills and Tears!
Everything looked so cool!  We kept moving throughout the land through the marketplace and over to the Imperial outpost.  We just kept looking at everything in awe!  These pics are out of order...
But we got ourselves some blue and green milk to start.  The blue was good, but the green tasted like soap.  Cali said they both tasted like soap.  We stopped and took some pics in front of the tie interceptor and Brody did some shopping.  We walked through all the shops and most of the restuarants, but just to see what they looked like.  Then we headed to the Millenium Falcon!

Even the line for the Falcon is so cool!

After winding through the station, we get recruited by Hondo to go on a mission...

Up to 6 can fit in the cock pit.  So we all got a job to do on the flight.  On our first flight, Jeremy and I were engineers.  Cali and Brody were gunners.  Gavin and Luke were our pilots.

The ride is a simulator and it makes you feel like you are actually flying!  It was so much fun!

We immediately got back on and rode again.  This time, Jeremy and I were the pilots.  It was so cool!

We finished off our 4 hour window with these cute little cokes...

Then we headed back to the real world...
We grabbed dinner at the Rose Tavern.  Cali and I got the grey stuff!  It's delicious!
And everyone was kind enough to let us ride Alice in Wonderland before we left...
We had such a wonderful day and I'm so glad we did this as a family.  It made it even more special!

We got our annual passes on the way out.  So now we can go lots of times this year.  Chirstmas is June!  Yay!
