Goodbye Tess

On Saturday, July 11th, Jeremy and I attended the graveside service for Tess (Harris) Mata'u.  It was nice that they could have one for her.  Everyone spread out on the lawn and wore masks.  So glad so many friends and family could be there to support the family and say goodbye.  It was such a beautiful service, but also, so sad.  She is going to be so missed.

Since we were at Eternal Hills, we walked down to visit Grandpa and Jarrod.

We cleaned up their plaques and I just sat with my grandpa and just wish he was still here.

COVID update - July 9, 2020

Fancy Dinner Party

On Wednesday, July 8th,

We were invited to attend the Miller Cousin Fancy Dinner Party!

The older kids wanted to do something nice for their parents for all of the fun and food they have provided the last two weeks.  Because Cali is their babysitter, and we are her parents, we were invited too!  We started with a delicious spaghetti and meatball dinner.

Then the kids provided entertainment.  There were songs, dances, skits and piano playing.  It was awesome!  I laughed so hard and my cheeks hurt from smiling so much!  These kids are amazing and I felt so honored to be there!

Jeremy and I had to leave to meet with our new Sister missionaries, but Cali stayed for one last night with all of these cuties on their last night together!

Ministering at Sunset

On July 4th, Heaven gained a new angel.  Sweet Tessie Harris Mata'u lost her battle with a rare cancer.  I was heartbroken.  I have been praying for months for her to be healed and to let a miracle happen.  But I guess she was needed at Home.  Erica and I are Rhiannon's Ministering Sisters.  She needed a night out of the house on Tuesday, so we took her down to the beach and ate sandwiches while watching a beautiful sunset.

My heart hurts for the family and for Tess's husband Matt.  I pray that they will feel the love and comfort from the Savior that we are all praying for.

4th of July!

We celebrated at the Ranch of course!  It was a McEwan family takeover!

We spent the day swimming and eating...

Due to COVID, most fireworks shows were cancelled.  But that meant, that everyone went out and bought illegal ones and we got the best show from the backyard of all the neighbors shooting them off!

Cali got some sparklers for graduation, so we played with those too!

It was such a fun, relaxing day.  Our country is currently in turmoil.  So many disagreements, disgust in our leaders, radical thinking and actions on both sides and a movement to erase or "cancel' history.  It really makes me sad.  But I am so grateful and have so much love for this country.  We will come together and be stronger and better.  That is what we do.  That is why this country exists!  God Bless the USA!

Friday July 3rd

I had the day off!  I was up at 8 and to the beach by 9 AM!  BY MYSELF!

It was glorious!

After spending a wonderful day at the beach, I grabbed Luke and some Panera and took dinner to the Carlsbad McEwan kids.

RECAP:

So, on Tuesday June 30, Shawna had to have her gall bladder removed.  Once they were in there, they also saw that one of the gall stones was blocking her bowels.  She had to be transferred to NVMC Balboa to have a second procedure done to remove the blockage.  So, she came home Thursday, but was still in alot of pain and began vomitting.  Gav took her back to the ER and it was determined that her gall bladder and blockage procedures caused Pancreatitis!  Poor thing!  She was re-admitted to the hospital.  Cali and Brody had spent a good chunk of Friday hanging out with the kids and I brought in the dinner for the win that night!  Shawna is doing better and they are just waiting for the inflammation to go down and she will be able to come home.

We headed home around 8 and got ready to watch-

Disney+ pushed up their realease of the movie in time for the 4th of July.  We were so excited to watch it as a family!

COVID update - July 1, 2020

The Last Night...

Monday June 29th-

For our last night with the Holbrooks before they left, Cali brought over all of her dance dresses and we had ourselves a dress up dance party!

Everyone will be gone tomorrow!  We loved the last 2 weeks and all of the Wilson family fun we got to have!

Zac starts his certification for Cyber Security at the end of the month.  Before he moves to Colorado, he is going off on his own to Oregon for some alone time.  We are so happy for him and so excited for the future he is creating!

But we are sure going to miss him!
