(Another) Heart Happy Moment...

Whenever I get these feelings, I want to record them...
This morning I took a walk with my husband and it is a beautiful day! We stopped at a garage sale and had a nice time visiting with some of our friends and neighbors. That made my heart happy! Then we came home to our kids having fun and playing together-having Star Wars Battles in the backyard and Cali singing with Brody! My Heart is Happy!

Gavin's 1st Concert...

I took Gavin to see "Star Wars in Concert" this evening! It was AWESOME! We got to the Sports Arena about 2+ hours early, parked, and walked to Red Lobster for dinner. Then we headed back and were able to enjoy a prop and costume exhibit, as well as take some pix with characters. After grabbing some souvenirs, we headed to our seats. They were awful! They were nose bleeds and on the side so that you couldn't even see the stage. I was so ticked, because I bought these seats during the pre-sale, before they went on sale to the public. Gavin was so bummed.
So, I trudged down to the ticket office and asked if we could get our seats changed. And they said YES! They felt bad for Gav and gave us some really great seats! YAY!

He (We) totally enjoyed the show! It was so cool! And Gavin was so excited because we got an encore! (I didn't want to tell him that always happens at concerts)!

Big Sister Moment...

With kids there are always sweet and funny things that happen that I always want to write down or capture on film, so that I can always remember. This blog thingy has become my journal writing so here goes...
Cali and Luke are only a year and grade apart. She is his protector on the playground. She's always coming home with reports. Today, I was informed that Luke was getting beat up on the playground. Cali ran right over and pushed that kid off of him and made him promise to never touch Luke again or she would punch him! Then she told the noon duty and Luke's teacher what happened. As they were relaying the story to me this afternoon, he said how grateful he was to have his big sister there to look out for him. Then he got teary-eyed when he said that he was going to miss her next year, because she will be on the 3rd grade playground and not with him anymore. Cali immediately ran over to him and hugged him and told him he would be alright, and that it would only be for a year, and then they would be together at recess again. That brought some tears to my eyes. And then Cali told him she would make sure to assign some of her 2nd grade friends to look out for him next year. They would be his "Pretend Big Sister Posse". I love my kids!

A Week to Remember...

WOW! What a week! Our parents gave us a week to use at their timeshare for Christmas. We had to book ours before May 31st, so we decided to use our week to celebrate our 14 year wedding anniversary. We chose to go to Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo Mexico. Here are some snapshots of the trip.

I took so many more pix and would love to detail out the whole trip because we had so much fun and had so many adventures! But, I don't think I can put it all on here...(I'll put it all in the scrapbook). It was an amazing week and I can't wait to do it again! Thanks Mom and Dad! (Not just for the trip, but for the babysitting too!)

MOTHERS DAY ROCKS!

I had a very lovely day this year. It started at 7:30 AM with Breakfast in bed. The kids and Daddy entered the room with the tray full of yummy food and each kid had a bundle of flowers for me. They were so excited and proud of themselves that I didn't even mind being woke up so early!
Once I was finished sharing breakfast in my bed, they brought me downstairs to see all my gifts! My husband is AWESOME! He took all 4 (+1 cousin) to Michael's Friday night and purchased paint and had each of the kids decorate a vase for me. I got to put the flowers they gave me in the vases. It was so sweet and special. Jeremy also got me some of my favorite candy, some pepsi, a can opener (i needed a new one), and "The Blind Side" DVD. Woo Hoo! Then it was off to church! I had the privilege of speaking in Sacrament Meeting. I gave a talk on the power and influence of mothers. I guess I did OK, because I got lots of compliments afterward, and that made me feel good! Plus, my kids' teachers had them make some yummy and adorable gifts in Sunday School, so I came home loaded with "swag"!
The afternoon was nice and relaxing with my in-laws. I got a nap! And then the men BBQ'ed steak for dinner and it was delicious. It was so nice to just hang out together and then my parents joined us for dessert.
The Best Part, was that Adam and Becky and the girls stayed the night and hung out with me all day today too!
It's good to be a mom! Or as Luke said yesterday..."You're not just a mom; You're MY mom!"

All my kids and All my presents! Yippee!

My Mommy/Daughter Date Night...

For Mothers Day this year, my mom and I celebrated early with a night out on the town! We had a yummy Mexican Food Dinner in the Gaslamp (La Fiesta) and then it was off to the Civic Theatre for Celtic Woman. It was really neat! I hadn't really heard of them before and the show was really amazing! It was a great night! Thanks Mom!

All I ever wanted to be...

All I ever wanted to be, for as long as I can remember, is a Mommy. I used to sing a song about it when I was little. "When I grow up; I want to be a mother-and have a family; 1 little, 2 little, 3 little babies of my own..."
Today was the annual "Mothers Day Tea" at the Preschool that almost all of my kids have attended. It was short, but very sweet and reaffirms to me that I am "living the dream". I LOVE being a Mom and am very happy to know that 4 of my greatest blessings call me Mommy!
Here's some pics my morning:

Who's kid is that? Getting ready to sing some songs.

Lukey has always made life exciting! And today was no different. We got up and headed to church as always, and right during the Sacrament, Lukey puked! I won't go into all the graphic details (see Jeremy's FB Wall), but it was not pretty! Jeremy raced him home and got him all cleaned up. We were supposed to have a big family party, but had to cancel just in case he was contagious. He was so bummed. But we did our best to cheer him up! He got to open his presents from his brothers and sister (a Lego Buzz Lightyear; some Buzz Lightyear wall stickers; a Star Wars "snuggie"). He had to eat crackers and drink 7-Up all day, but I let him have Toy Story Mac n Cheese for dinner! Gammy and Papa came over anyway, and had some brownies and gave Lukey his Lego Toy Story Wild West Town! That made his day! And the best part.....His Aunts and Uncles and cousins showed up at the door to bring their gifts and treats as well! They didn't come in, but it made him feel very special! So Happy Birthday, once again, Lukey! (aka Pukey Lukey)
