The First Official Week of Summer!

OK, so now that Gavin is done with school, we can get down to business!  Monday, I promised Gav we could just stay home and do nothing.  So, other than an orthodontist appt., that's what we did.
Tuesday, I left Gavin home with Brody and headed down to Balboa Park with Luke.  The scouts are working on their artist and photography pins.  Luke ended up being the only one that showed up.  We visited the Museum of Art and the Museum of Man.  He got to take lots of pictures and it was a beautiful day!
On Wednesday, we went to The Ranch!  Nana was babysitting Ever and we got to swim and play with her. That night, Lukey had his soccer evaluation and then Jer and I got to go to Ward Temple Night.  I really needed that.  It's been kind of a rough week.  I'm not going to go into details here, but it's hard having a teenager and my calling is challenging!  But, YAY for the Temple!  Thursday was a great day because-
WE WENT TO THE DEL MAR FAIR!!!
On the Shuttle from Free Parking
Kaci has a whole bunch of free Fair tickets, so we met her and Tami there for some fun.  I told Gavin he could bring a friend.  He invited Anna.  His "girl" friend.  He really likes her and she really likes him, but he can't have a girlfriend, so they are just really good friends who happen to like each other a little more.  Got it?  It kind of makes my stomach hurt....but she is a very sweet, shy, nerdy girl AND she got to come with us!  Our first stop was Chicken Charlie's.  Gavin and Anna got fried Frog Legs!

We met up with Kaci and Tami at the Pig Races, and then headed for the Kid Zone.  I let Anna & Gavin go off to the big rides for an hour, while I hung out with these 2...
Pirate Slide...the favorite!

Treats Man!
When Anna and Gav returned from the big rides, they got to ride a couple more w/ the boys in the Kid Zone-

Brody's new favorite ride!  He was laughing so hard!

"My Tummy is Giggling!"

I always let them play one game.  But this time, only Brody wanted to play.  He won "Spot" at the Balloon Dart Game.
We had to stop by the Bacon Fair and get these 2 some Bacon, Gouda Truffle Fries and a Corn dog wrapped in Bacon!
On our way out of the Fair, we had to stop by and say goodbye to the animals...

These 2 used their last dollar to see the Gator!

The theme this year is "Game On".  The main hall is dedicated to the history of games.  These 2 hopped into the Monopoly car just before we left for the day.  They passed GO and want to know where their $200 is!?
That night, we came home and CRASHED!!!  It was a great day at the Fair.
Friday, we went back to The Ranch so that I could Tan.  Because that night was my 20 Year High School Reunion!
I met Karen and Maya over at Karen's and we all got ready together and had a little photo shoot (more pics to come once I get them from Maya!), before jumping into our decorated mini van and heading to the Carlsbad Sheraton.
I really had no desire to go, but ended up having so much fun with these 2!  It was great to see so many people and catch up.

Unfortunately, there wasn't that great of a turn out.  A lot of people were missing.  Other than that, it was a really fun night and I got Maya and Karen home safely...just like in High Shool!
So that's about it!  First Week of Summer DONE!
At this moment, Jeremy is at the Grand Canyon w/ his Dad and Scrac; Gavin is in Washington DC on a school trip; Cali made it home safe from Utah; and I'm ready to pass out from all the busy-ness!

Daddy's Day!

THE BREAKFAST!
Fathers Day was a little different this year, because Cali was gone :-(
But, she worked really hard making special gifts and hidden notes for her Daddy to find all day :-).  The boys did a great job helping Daddy feel extra loved!  We started the morning with French Toast, Bacon and hash browns in bed!  Everyone gave him their cards and we all got him a new book, "Dad is Fat", by Jim Gaffigan.
We had a nice relaxing morning and then headed off to Church.  Church was wonderful!  We came home and had a nice lunch of sandwiches and chips before heading off to Carlsbad for a hike!

The hike was just what Daddy wanted and we had so much fun.  We decided to make this a monthly thing.  We came home and the boys watched "Shaolin Soccer" while I made Ribs for dinner.
 Mmmmmm.....
It was an almost perfect Fathers Day!  Jeremy loved his day, but we all missed our Angel.  I feel so blessed that I get to have this man as the father of my children.  He is so fun and loves his children so much!  Happy Fathers Day Jeremy!
