A Heart Happy Moment...

We just pulled into the driveway....and this is what I hear-
Cali:  "Love is having your little brother fall asleep on you."
(sniff, sniff)

17 Years...

Then...
 Now...
This past weekend, Jeremy and I celebrated our 17th Wedding Anniversary!  Crazy!  Friday was the 24th, and I was supposed to be on an all day adventure with my Laurels.  Well, turns out, they ended up having school (even though they told me they didn't...), and that meant, that I had the day off!  The kids were out of school, and I had already farmed them out to my mom for the day and they wanted to go to her house so bad.  So, I slept in, painted my toe nails and vegged all morning.  Then, Jeremy decided to only work half day, so that we could celebrate our anniversary.  We had plans all day Saturday (the 25th), so this worked out perfectly!  First, we went to see-
It was AWESOME!!!  I loved it!  Jeremy had already seen it with Gav.  They went to the midnight show the morning it came out.  Then we drove down to Carlsbad and went for a walk along Tamarack.  To top of the perfect day, we went to dinner at Harbor Fish n Chips.  Here's a pic of 3 of my favorite things....Jeremy, Pepsi and Fish!
Happy Anniversary to me!
 For dessert...deep fried pineapple rings...mmmm...mmmmm...delicious!
After our wonderful meal, we grabbed the kids from my mom and dad and headed home.  It turned out to be one of my most favorite anniversary celebrations, yet!  I am a lucky lady!  It has been a crazy, yet absolutely thrilling and wonderful ride being married these 17 years!  I can't wait for 17,000,000,000 + more!  I love you Jeremy!

College Field Trip

Last Wednesday, I got to go w/ Gav & his 8th Grade class on a tour on UCSD.  We got to tour the campus and learn about what college life is all about and what they need to do to get there.  It was really fun and interesting.  It made me wish that I had had a college experience.  I had a great group of boys in my group and was really impressed with how well behaved everyone was on the tour.

Open House

Last Thursday was Open House at Monte Vista.  It's been an interesting year.  All three of these kiddos were blessed with great teachers....but the school itself seems to be going downhill.  Luke struggled with mean people this year, but made it through just fine.  Mrs. Shields was a huge help.  Here he is in his classroom showing off some of his work...
Cali got to be in Mr. Menchaca's class!  She had an awesome year, awesome grades, served as Student Council President and got to be on the Safety Patrol.  By 5th grade, the amount of work to show off is small, especially with a male teacher.  But here she is showing us a few things...
Brody had the most to show.  Yay for 1st Grade!  He had a nice teacher, although she is retiring...
I think he may have put her over the edge with his goofing off! (Just Kidding...)  He loves school and excelled this year!  Here he is giving us the tour of Mrs. Parlin's classroom-

Super Sweet Saturday

Saturday was Brody's last game of the season.  He was so sad to have to leave the Father/Sons Campout early to go to his game.  He did NOT want to play.  He fought us hard...He said he didn't want to play baseball anymore!  But, we got him there and he did AWESOME!  2 base hits and some great fielding.
It was one of the boy's birthdays, so after the game they had a little team party....
His coach thanked the boys for a great season and asked who wanted to play next year.  Brody yelled "I do!"  And even said he wanted to play winter ball...go figure!
After the game, we changed into our swim attire and headed to Mission Viejo to the Hawkins' place.  We got to play with Sam, Tatum & their cute little girls, as well as, Jim, Whit and Ever!  We had a great time!

We even got some play-doh fun in...

Sammy & Tatum are moving to China in September!!!!  Hope we get to play with them again before the go "Sianara!"

Ladies Night

So, this past Friday night was the annual Father/Son Campout.  The Activity Day girls decided to plan a Mommy/Daughter night while the boys were away.  It was at the Dore's and we started the night out w/ mani /pedi's.  Cali painted my toe nails green and I painted her toe and finger nails blue!

 Ta-Dah!
The girls ran around and played, while us moms sat on the back porch and chatted.  It was really nice!  I don't get to talk to grown ups very often.
We went inside and each of the girls wrote a little poem about what their moms help them do.  Cali's mentioned that I help her to do chores, choose the right, learn & brush her hair.
Then we ended the night with ice cream sundaes.  Cali was the only girl who made a sundae for her mom (awwwww.....).
I love my Angel and am so glad I have a daughter that I get to spend these special occasions with.
We came home, got our pj's on, popped some popcorn and watched "Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta" and caught up on "Once Upon a Time".  It was a perfect Ladies Night!

Mothers Day

I LOVE MOTHERS DAY!!!!
Every year seems to get more special.  I really enjoy the tradition we have started, where I get to spend a special day with my mom the day before.  This year, Cali joined us.  We went to dinner at Outback Steakhouse and then we went to see a youth production of "Beauty and the Beast".  Cali's friend Emily was in the show.  It was a great way to kick off Mothers Day and I love being able to make my mom feel loved and appreciated.  I do absolutely love and appreciate her so much!
Sunday morning, I got to sleep in until 9:00 AM!!!  My awesome family made me this amazing breakfast and brought it to me in bed...
They all had made me special cards-

And they each had flowers for me...

Church was extra special.  It was Testimony meeting and I got to share my testimony with my family.  Cali bore her testimony too and said some really sweet things about me and my mom.  All the moms got flooded with flowers and treats.  Then, I got to come home and do NOTHING!  It was AWESOME!  Jeremy had stocked the house with my favorite food.  So, I spent the afternoon snacking away and watching my family cook and clean.  And, we spent some time snuggled up on the couch watching Lord of the Rings & had ourselves a little photo shoot-

The icing on the cake of the day, Cass & Marsh came over for dinner.  They also brought me some delicious guacamole!  I got to give Cass her first baby gift on her first Mothers Day...

I am so happy for her and her family.  She is going to be the best mommy!  And I am so happy I get to be a "Grand Nanny"!  We enjoyed a yummy steak dinner, made by Jeremy and Cali.  Then we had some amazing chocolate chip, toffee & caramel brownies for dessert.
I absolutely basked in all the love and happiness of this day.  I am truly grateful that I get to be a mom and that I have been so blessed with a beautiful family.

Double Digits

 Lukey is 10 years old!!!!!!
Wednesday was May 1st and Luke got up nice and early before school so that he could eat his birthday cinnamon rolls.  He ate 6!!!  He was so excited to be 10.  He told me he felt older.
While he was at school, I made his cake.  He does not like cake, so with the help of pinterest, I made this-
When he got home, we took his birthday club coupon to Toys R Us and he got himself a new watch.  It's a lego yoda watch.  So Cool!
When Daddy got home from work, he FINALLY got to open his presents...
A movie and mini-fig from Brody-
He was so excited that he screamed-
He loved his Adventuretime DVD and Finn Hat from Gavin-
And he got a new 3DS game from Cali-
Mommy and Daddy got him a new shirt and jacket-

Here he is modeling his new hat and jacket (with the help of a sword).  Channeling Finn the Human!
 He wanted Islands for dinner...
And got a free vanilla birthday shake for dessert!
We came home and he got to blow out the candles on his candy cake-

And he shared his candy with his siblings.  Everyone was Happy!  Happy Birthday Luke!
Yesterday, we celebrated with the Fam!  We started with lunch at Lamppost Pizza.
He got a new Wii Game from Gammy & Papa-

A new lego set from Nana & Papa-

AND an Angry Bird Yoda from the McEwans-

Then we all headed over to the movie theater to see -
It was INSANE!!!!  Great story and casting...it was just a little on the too violent side for me.  But Lukey LOVED it!  He said he had goosebumps the whole time!  And it was really fun to have the whole family there together!
After the movie, we said goodbye to everyone and headed over to this new Comic Book shop in Vista, for Free Comic Book Day!

Best Birthday EVER!!!!
