Memorial Day 2016

Yesterday was Memorial Day.  We all had the day off and we really wanted to spend it at the beach.  The day started out pretty gloomy.  Jeremy got there early and got us the perfect spots!
I headed down with the boys around 11.  They played smash ball and in the water all morning.

By 1:00, the gray went away and we got our sunny day!  Nana & Papa came down around 3.  Mark, Tracy, Carter, Chloe, Gammy & Papa came down around 3:30.  Jim, Whit & the girls and Cali & Gavin came down around 4.  We all just sat around chatting and enjoying the beautiful weather.
We started dinner around 6.  Everyone left except for the grandparents.  We cooked foil dinners, roasted marshmallows and ate lots of other yummy things.  We stayed until the sun went down!  It was an absolutely perfect day!
So grateful for the men and women who have sacrificed so much so that we can have the freedom to enjoy days like today!

NEWSIES!

Today I got to take my #1 & #2 to see Newsies.  I have been wanting to see this for so long.  When I got the tickets a couple of months back, I asked if anyone wanted to see it with me.  These 2 said they wanted to.  Our morning got off to a rough start.  Cali was feeling the effects of prednizone and got sick.  But she did not want to miss this.  We ended up leaving a little later than planned, so that she could rest up.  She came downstairs looking all cute and said she was ready.  So we hopped in the car and miraculously had no traffic as we drove to Orange County to the Segerstrom Performing Arts Center.  This place is so cool!  I wanted a nice pic of them, but Cali still has puffy eyes, so she didn't want to smile.  Here's my serious children...
 And then they got cute...
We had great seats and we loved the show!  I had so much fun hanging out with my oldests!  I love them so much!

An interrupted Ladies Night

Cali and I got tickets to see this back in March!  We got great seats at the very first showing the night before it opened (Thursday).   So, we had a nice dinner at Panera and then went to enjoy our movie!
(Excuse my chubbiness...I'm growing a Human!)
About 45 minutes into the movie, Cali told me that she felt funny.  She then had me feel her face.  She was totally swelling up!  So, we had to leave the movie and head home.  Here's what she looked like when we got home...
My poor angel!  She took some Allegra nad tried to soothe the itching with some ice.  She also broke out in hives all over her back.
She was able to sleep ok, but woke up the next morning with one of her eyes completely swollen shut!  She missed school and we headed back to the allergist.  He thinks it might be an allergic reaction to aspirin.  Back in November, he thought it was ibuprofen.  She had taken some excedrin before we left for the movie because she had a headache, and he thinks that may have done it.  So, she has to  take a whole bunch of stuff the next few days to get rid of the swelling.  She woke up this morning, not as puffy, but the meds made her sick and she puked.  But she's such a trooper and has a great attitude through it all.  I hope we can find out exactly what's causing these reactions so she doesn't have to go through this again.

Her last middle school crazy hair day...

And she was apparently the only one who did it!  I love her...(Lukey Photobomb)

20 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wednesday was the day.  May 25th!  We have been married for 20 years!  20 years!!!  It's crazy!  It feels like it has gone by so fast!  We really wanted to celebrate in a big way, but with me being big and pregnant, we opted for a day together instead.  He took the day off of work and I re-arranged my carpool schedule and we headed off to the coast.  First stop, Ki's in Cardiff for Breakfast.  We sat on the patio and enjoyed the view and ate yummy eggs, bacon and hasbrowns.  I also got a delicious Mango smoothie!  Then we drove down the coast on this beautiful day...

We drove to Ocean Beach and had ourselves a couples massage!  One of Jeremy's clients owns a day spa and we hit it up and it was awesome!  50 minutes of pure bliss!  It was Jeremy's first massage and he loved it!  Then we drove north up the coast to La Jolla and picked out our future houses.  We made a pit stop at Windansea and enjoyed the view.
Then we returned to the spot where it all began...
I feel so blessed that I was able to marry this man in this place and am so grateful for the life we have built together.

We finished off the day with a sunset view dinner at the Pacific Coast Grill.  The sweet server gave us a free dessert (vanilla bread pudding with caramel and fruit...yumm!).
And then we came home to yummy treats from my sweet husband.
It truly was a perfect day.  We love hanging out and we spent a lot of time talking and reflecting on our wonderful life together.  I love being married to Jeremy.  I love him so much!!!  I can honestly say that marrying him is the best choice I ever made.  I am so happy to be his wife and so grateful that he loves me too!

No Boys Allowed

Saturday was beautiful!  And these girls asked to go to the beach.  Duh!  So the 3 of us had a lovely afternoon enjoying our beach.  I've been asked by the dr. to take it easy these next 6 weeks.  This place is the best place for me to do that.

First Holy Communion

Saturday was this sweet girl's First Holy Communion.  It was my first one too!

Lunch Date

Fridy was a little cold and grey at our house.  And I was bored and not able to do too much.  So, Jeremy called and had me meet him for lunch in Carlsbad.  I'm so glad I did.  Here was our view from Fish and Chips.  It was warm and beautiful and lunch was yummy!  I am so ready for Summer!

Beach Party!

Last week, the YM & YW had a beach party.  It was cold...so they had a sand castle contest.  Cali's group won "Judge's Choice".  And Luke & Tyler won the "Most Creative" for their "Frozen" inspired creation.

Mothers Day 2k16

It was another wonderful day!  I love all that my family does to make my day special.  It started with a delicious breakfast in bed at 7:30 AM.

And then they spoiled me with gifts...
We had church at 9:00 and Luke gave a wonderful talk in Sacrament Mtg.  He made me cry.  I got to participate in the "Who's Mom is that?" game in Primary and got to play with my favorites in Nusery.
After church I wanted a nice pic with my kiddos...

And then I spent the afternoon eating and sleeping.  Just what I wanted!!
I love looking on FB and IG at all the Mothers Day posts.  Here's a couple from my kids...

After my nap, we watched "Two Towers" and Jeremy made a yummy steak and baked potato dinner.  I loved every minute of this day with my family.
And this guy, he worked so hard all day to make sure the day was perfect.  It tired him out...
I thank my Father in Heaven every day for the opportunity I have been given to be a mother.  It truly is all I have ever wanted.  I am thankful for the children He chose to send to me and the love I get to give and feel from them.  I love my own mom so much and am grateful for all of the love she gives to me.  Mothers Day Rocks!  Can't wait for next year!

FCBD

While Cali and I took the grandmas out, Daddy took these 3 to Toy Wars for the annual celebration of Free Comic Book Day!  They loaded up on free comic boooks and also brought their birthday money.  They bought themselves som fun toys and Jeremy didn't have to fork out a penny!

Mothers Day Kick Off

On Saturday, Cali and I took the Grandmas, Gammy and Nana to the Chocolate Festival at the San Diego Botanical Gardens for their Mothers Day gift.
It wasn't as cool as I wanted it to be, but we did still get some amazing samples...

Cali and I loved the chocolate fountain the best!
And yes, we licked our plates clean...
These 2 got free samples AND bought stuff!
We had so much fun hanging out and loved walking through the gardens too...

We were starving for some real food after, so we headed to Casa de Bandini for some yummy mexican food and even got serenaded.
We are so lucky to live close to both grandmas and to be able to do fun things with them.  We love them so much and I am so glad we could do something special with them to celebrate Mothers Day!
