The last field trip...

Friday the 31st was Cali's last Elementary School field trip to Sea World!  I got to chaperone!  Yay!  I had the best group and we totally broke the "no rides" rule (hee hee!).
After our educational orientation, I took my group to ride Atlantis.  We got so wet!  We headed to the Penguin Encounter to dry off and I even let them try this ladder game...

None of them won, but it was sure fun to watch!
We had a great time going through some more exhibits, like the Sharks-

And then finished the day with another ride and ice cream!

Best Thursday EVER!

Thursday May 30th!  I woke up and the 3 day migraine was gone! YAY!  It was also the day I got to watch Ever ALL DAY!  She was a little shy at first, but that wore off and we had the best day!  Here she is with her favorite new toy...
She LOVED the slide.  Although, I had to spot her or she would have taken a dive right off each time!
 Love that "Strahan" smile!
We played outside most of the day.  She loved the car-
 and the hose!
She took a great nap and was so happy when Cali got home from school...

Squeezin' it in...

I totally forgot...the day of Cali's Ballet Folklorico performance, we also went to Disneyland!  It was the last  week we could use our passes before the summer blockout.  So, we actually headed up there on Tuesday after school.  We checked into a Best Western FOR FREE!  I had a free night.  Then we walked over to Disneyland for the night.  We only rode a few rides, but we watched the fireworks and Fantasmic!  We don't usually stay late enough to do those, or we usually ride rides while everyone is watching those.  But Luke & Brody couldn't remember seeing Fantasmic, and they loved it!  I had the beginning of a migraine, but made it to park closing time.  We walked back to our hotel and crashed!  I did not sleep well, I was out of migraine meds and the over the counter stuff did not help one bit!  But we had to get our last day in!  So I soldiered through!  We got up and had a nice free breakfast and headed over to CA Adventure for the day.  These are the only pics I took, because of the throbbing headache.  I only rode one ride and watched most of the day.  But the kids had a great time and got to ride most of their favorite rides.

We had to leave by 3, to get home for Cali's performance.  I felt awful, but am so glad I could make sure the kids got one more chance for some Disney Fun!

Ballet Folklorico

This year, Cali had the opportunity for participate in her school's Ballet Folklorico program.  Only 5th graders can participate and it is a total volunteer effort on behalf of the teachers and parents.  Every Wednesday, after school, she had practice for an hour.  Last Wednesday night was their performance.  It was really neat and she did such a great job!

I had a nice (totally horrible) migraine and ducked out as soon as she was done dancing.  But I left the camera with Jer and he got these cute pics...

The wonderful volunteer teachers, Mr. Cobb & Ms. McBain-
 Cali and her BFF Mia-

RBVHS POPS Concert 2013 "Out of this World"

For the 2nd year in a row, we attended Sarah's Band Fundraiser.  They do such a great job.  This year's theme was "Out of this World".  They had the instrument stations set up during the kids' performance, and the kids had a great time learning about the instruments and getting the stamps on their sheets-

The band had a lot of Star Wars and Star Trek decorations and they loved making their own balloon lightsabers-

We paid a little more for the sit-down seats and the cute ticket lady made sure we were in the front row!
The band played songs from different Sci-Fi movies like Star Trek, 2001, E.T., Lost in Space and Star Wars.
And Chewie (Sarah's Music Director) led the final number...

The kids loved it!  And we loved being able to take a few quick pix with Chewbacca at the end.

That night, Jer and I attended the dessert gala with my parents, Gamichele and Mark and Tracy.  They played some different songs along with the movie ones from the kids' performance.  It was a fun way to spend a Saturday and support Sarah and her band.
