Happy Birthday USA! (Part One)

This year, our stake had a 4th of July breakfast.  Gavin invited a couple of friends, Jeremy cooked 400 sausages and we all headed over to the Stake Center to start our Nation's birthday off right!  We enjoyed pancakes & crepes and hanging out with friend and family...

Fun at the Fab Fair

Summer isn't Summer unless we visit the Del Mar Fair!  It will be over on Sunday, so we headed down today!  I had a Dr. Appt. in Encinitas at 9:30.  I took these 3 with me and we just went right over to the polo fields to free parking afterwards.  These guys were so excited to ride the "Harry Potter" bus!

I thought the fair opened at 10:00.  But, it opened at 11:00 (Doh!).  We got to see the flag raising ceremony and this cool little tribute to Tony Gwynn...
A very nice lady handed us these free tickets when we arrived.  Yay!
The gates opened at 11:00 AM and we were on our way!  Woo Hoo!  It was a great day, because it was cloudy and cool.  The ride areas didn't open until Noon, so we started our day with some food!
I got myself some charbroiled corn and orange julius!  Mmmmm....
Luke got himself a giant pretzel and a Dr. Pepper.  But he wouldn't let me take a pic.  But he did let me take a picture of him in this...
Cali got her some HDOAS lemonade and some yummy chicken from Chicken Charlie's!
And Brody got him a HDOAS!
Noon came along and it was ride time!  We started in the Kid Zone and the first ride was the Wacky Worm...
Then Luke & Brody hit up the Quadzilla-
These 2 were ride buddies all day-
This one isn't a big fan of the rides, but he does love the slides...
I got to be his buddy all day...I love him!
Cali convinced Brody to try out some of the big rides...

And he also like riding some of the little rides with Luke too...

These 2 scored big at the Balloon Bust Game!

 Meet Dohn and Fab-
Cali loves her some fast, spinning rides!
We did head to the Fun Zone so that Cali and Brody could get in some real big rides, like the Wild River-
And they used the last of their tickets on the Tilt a Whirl! They were laughing so hard the whole ride!
We had fun watching the other 2 on the rides...
Once our tickets were all spent, it was treat time!
 Oh Yeah!
Cali helped me with my treats...
Deep Fried Avocado and Bacon Wrapped Pickles!!!!
Luke passed on treats, didn't play a game and let his siblings have some of his tickets.  So, he got to pick a souvenir.
We were done by 2!  We hopped back on the "Harry Potter" bus and ended our "Fab" Day!  We love the fair and can't wait for next year!

Pool & World Cup at the Ranch

Yesterday was the knockout round between the USA and Belgium (Belgia!)
We grabbed Carter and Chloe and headed to the Ranch to swim and cheer on our team!
"We Believe that We Will Win!!!"
Even Jeremy came on his lunch break to join us...
The game was pretty intense, but 0-0 and went into overtime.  So, the kids did a lot of this-

And then it happened....Belgium scored 2 goals in extra time!!!  NO!!!!  We were able to score 1 too...but time ran out before we could get a chance to score another.  We were so sad...
But, the USA played an amazing game and the keeper, Tim Howard had a FIFA record game of 16 saves!!
Even though we lost, we still had a pretty fun day hanging out at the Ranch!

Summertime - Home Sweet Homet

Monday was our first beach day of Summer!  It was overcast, but we didn't care.  After a week in Utah, this is paradise!
Kaci and the girls joined us, as well as, Carter and Chloe.  The kids had a blast playing all day until this happened-
I took these once we got home and she had cleaned herself up.  Chloe and Cali went to the edge of the north jetty and were sitting a little too close to the water.  A big wave came and banged them up against the rocks.  When they came walking back to us on the beach, Cali's legs were covered in blood!  They learned not to ever do that again.  I told her she is just like her daddy!
