Grad / Dad Weekend

Saturday June 19, 2021
We started out our Summer Vacation with some Saturday morning Beach Therapy-

Then we grabbed the whole family and headed downtown for a Padre Game!  It was free Hawaiian Shirt Night!  Woohoo!  And we won!

We had so much fun at the game!  And so much fun together!
Sunday June 20, 2021
We got Luke a Disneyland Vacation for Graduation.  He didn't know about it.  Well, he kinda did, but didn't know we were doing it as soon as he graduated and that we would be there for 2 days!
Sunday was Fathers Day and it was rough convincing Jeremy to spend his day at Disney, but it ended up being such a fun day and he got to spend it with his family.
Dad got to pick what we did first and it was shooting at the shooting gallery.  Luke's gun just kept going and he scored lots of points and beat us all!

Then we ventured over to Galaxy's Edge for some blue milk and to ride Rise of the Resistance!

We spent the rest of the day running around and doing all of our favorite things and eating all of our favorite foods-

These 2 got to finally built their own lightsabers...

It was such a fun and magical day!  Loved being there as a whole family!  And on the way out of the park, we spotted Russell Wilson and his family (Orange sweatshirt).  Brody was stoked!
What a great day!
Monday June 21, 2021
We got our favorite hotel near the Convention Center Sunday night and everyone passed out hard.  I was up at 6:30 AM Sunday morning to try and get a boarding group for the new Spiderman Web Slingers Ride and I GOT IT!  Problem was, we were one of the first boarding groups and it was a challenge getting everyone up and moving to get to our boarding time.  Everyone was so tired and sore from the day before and we had to walk a few blocks to even get to the park.  But everyone sucked it up and we made it just in time!
Welcome to Avengers Campus!
The ride was ok.  It was not as awesome as we wanted it to be and neither was the campus.  Not a whole lot to see or do there, but we did enjoy checking it all out.

We did get to watch a cool Spidey Stunt show...
And it was a HOT day!  And the lines were LONG.  The whole day was kind of a struggle.
But we made the best of it!  Riding as many "cool" rides as we could.
Classic Toy Story Mania line photo...

We just took our time and chilled out alot and then we finished the day with dinner at the Lamplight Lounge!

Our day was done after dinner.  These kids were beat!  Some couldn't even make it to the car.  So, Jeremy and I left the kids in the drop off area and we made the trek back to the car and came back for them.  Even though it was so tiring, expensive and hot, this weekend was so much fun!  Love all the memories we got to make and to be able to celebrate our amazing dad and Luke!
Happy Grad/Dad Weekend!

Luke's Graduation

June 18, 2021
Mission Vista HS sent a survey out to all of the Seniors earlier in the year, asking what type of Graduation Ceremony they wanted.  The kids overwhelmingly voted for an in-person, traditional ceremony.  I thought last year's drive thru was pretty cool, but this is what the kids wanted and it turned out awesome!  All students got 4 tickets and the seats were assigned.  The night before the ceremony, CA lifted outdoor mask requirements, so the principal emailed all of the families to let them know that it would also be a mask-free event!  WooHoo!
So, around 3:30 PM, we loaded up our decorated minivan and headed to Luke's Graduation!

*sniff, sniff*

He was one of the last called and we yelled and screamed for him!  He was so happy!

Love him so much and am so proud of him!  It was the most difficult 18 months of school and he did it!

Then we came home and partied with the fam!

Luke!  Now that you have graduated from High School, what are you going to do?
I'M GOING TO DISNEYLAND!!

So truly grateful for everyone who helped make this day special for Luke.  The end of his junior year and his whole senior year was completely thrown off course because of Covid.  He struggled.  There were many hard days.  But he never gave up!  Love you Lukey!  Happy Graduation!

SUPER BOWL!

 June 11, 2021
It was the quickest flag season ever, but we made it to the super bowl and played the only other high school team in the county (Chula Vista).
These guys killed it and mercy ruled the other team by half time.
Super Bowl Champions!

I am so glad that Brody was put on this team!  He loved playing for Coach Chase and made such good friends with all the boys.  I am so glad that his last year was with this group!  He had so much fun and played so well!
Way to go Niners!

Quick Visit with Shauna

Shauna's brother got married in June.  So, we were able to meet up for dinner and some donuts real quick the day before.  So glad I was able to see her, just for a few hours.  I miss her being close, but love our quick adventures!

Seminary Graduation

 He did it!
4 years of Early Morning Seminary in the books for Luke!
And this last year was pretty difficult, being virtual.  He loved Seminary and all of his teachers.  We are so proud of him!

Because of Covid, they weren't in classes with their fellow seniors.  Instead, siblings were in the same class to make it easier.  So, these 2 got to be Seminary buddies.  I'm grateful that Luke loves Seminary, because that sure helped Brody get through his first year.

Luke's Senior Prom

While we were gone in the Carolinas, Luke went to Prom!
The school didn't sponsor one, so some awesome parents rented out a hall in Oceanside and put together a really fun night for the Seniors.
Cali helped to get him ready and to his friend, Angus's house.  Angus's parents took pics and got them dinner.  He had so much fun hanging out with his friends.  It makes me so happy that he was able to have this experience.
