Operation-Surprise Shauna

Back in January, Jenn Malone and I were talking about how much we missed our friend in Minnesota.  So we had a little meeting and decided to plan a "Top Secret" Mission to see her.  We found some great deals on flights, planned around our Spring Breaks, checked with Cory to make sure it would all work and "BAM"!  It was done!  I had let Tash know what was happening and invited her to come along....and "BAM"-she wanted to join the fun!  Then we waited......and on Wednesday April 11th, Jenn and I boarded a plane headed for Minneapolis.  We were so nervous that somehow, she knew we were coming.  We met Tash at the airport, rented a  (FREE) car and plugged her address into the GPS.  Then, we got lost.  Her house is so new, that it doesn't show up on any maps!  So, we had Jenn's husband call Cory and told Cory to call us.  He was a little surprised himself, because he wasn't expecting us until Thursday-doh!  But, he got us to the house and we snuck up to the front door.  I gave 3 big knocks and here's what Shauna looked like when she opened the door-
Her eyes got so big and she yelled..."SHUT UP!" and then she started crying.  It was AWESOME!  That reaction made the trip all worth it!  So, we invaded her new home and spent the next few days playing and hanging out with the fam.
We spent Thursday driving around the area and checking out her new stomping grounds.  On Friday, Cory had adjusted his schedule so that we could kidnap her and we headed to the MOA-Mall of America.  This place was GINORMOUS!!  Not only did it have every kind of store, restaurant, etc., but it had a theme park in it as well!

We shopped ALL DAY!  I actually LOVED it!
I had so much fun playing with my friends :-)

That night, we checked into a hotel across the street (for FREE with my BW rewards) and then had the yummiest dinner back at the MOA @ the Twin City Grille.  I seriously had the best burger EVER!

Twin City Grille
We were so beat Friday night and crashed hard back at the hotel.  It was so nice to wake up and slowly get ready and we were able to enjoy a FREE breakfast too!  We had cold and rainy days Thurs and Fri, but woke up to warm sunny skies on Saturday.  So, we hopped in the car and headed to downtown Minneapolis.  Our first stop-The Sculpture Garden!
We had fun being silly with all the art in the park!

After playing at the Sculpture Garden, we headed to some shops and found a huge Target!  This is where I had to take a picture of me hold a mini soda in Minnesota!  Get it?!  Funny thing about this picture though, we grabbed this 6 pack and didn't realize there was a hole in one of the cans.  There is coke spilling down my shirt while I had this picture taken.  Ha!  I was sticky!
We went back to the Woolf house and got to catch one of Blake's soccer games.  We went to dinner and just hung out playing Draw Free with the whole fam that night.  We went to church with them on Sunday and got to experience thunder, lightning and a tornado watch!  Monday, we woke up to little snow flurries and it was CCCCCOOOOOLLLLLDDDD!  We had a last meal out together (I was so done with restaurant food) and then we had to head to the airport to return our FREE car and head back to Cali.  It was a long day of travelling.  We were very tired and home/kid sick.  But we were so happy and glad that we pulled this off and got to see our friend.  I am very blessed to have these women in my life and will treasure this experience!  To see all the pics from our adventure, click HERE.

Movie Review...

Cute and fun!
It reminded me of the Cinderella-type movie "Ella Enchanted".  The costumes were so beautiful and the casting was great!  The dwarves and the king were probably my favorite characters, though.

Just another night at the Wilsons...

EASTER 2012

Easter Weekend started with the 2nd Annual Jones Family Egg Hunt!
We finally got to meet their chickens and Cali got to feed them!
Once most of the guests arrived, the kids got hunting!  Jen has assigned colors for each age group.  My kids are the "big kids", so they got to look for the big white, blue and green eggs!

And Adam likes to hide the big kid eggs in high places:

SCORE!

Brody had a TBall game and was late, but still got to find all 10 of his eggs!

The last egg!  Woo Hoo!

Here's my cute Easter Crew!  Brody was tired and wanted to go home...
Actually, Gavin wanted to leave too, so I let him walk home with Brody.  But, 5 minutes later, I couldn't handle the worry and hopped in the car and went and got them.  They looked so cute walking, holding hands and talking.  I almost wished I hadn't picked them up, but this worryful mommy couldn't handle it!

Sunday April 8, 2012 - Easter Sunday!
Here's the kiddos waiting for the ok to come down and find their baskets:
The Easter Bunny loaded their baskets with candy and a book!

The Easter Bunny got Jeremy a new pillow (cause we left his on the road trip...) and a Bear Grills survival pack-Oh Yeah!
We had to bite the heads and ears off the Peeps:

And Gavin and Brody had a Chocolate Bunny eating contest-
Who won?  Gav's is on the left...you decide!
We got our Easter clothes on and headed to Fallbrook to go to church with Nana & Papa.

Instead of an egg or basket hunt, Nana made an Easter game Hunt.  She had little games hidden around the house.  The kids would find a game, play it and then find the next one.  It was lots of fun!
The basket game-Gav is the winner!

The bunny-chute game.
 Daddy wanted to play too-
 Weeeeeee!
Daddy might have won this one!
 Bunny Bowling-
Look at the concentration!

We also played Tic-Tac-Toe and a ball bouncing game.  When Uncles Zac and Ben showed up, we played a fun egg game.  You would draw an egg out of the basket and each egg had a slip of paper in it telling you to do something.  You had to do whatever it said.  It was silly!  Here's Zac getting his egg...and wearing his Easter Best:

Awwww....

Hunt Time!
After having fun and enjoying an Easter BBQ, we headed to Oceanside for the McEwan family Easter.

The big kids had to find their baskets in the canyon...
 Jeremy wasn't really looking....just playing!

Here's everyone looking for the last gold egg that contained a whole $1!!!
Look at this cute little Easter cutie:
Gammy made a yummy dinner and we all had a wonderful time!
Happy Easter!
