8th Grade Graduation

John, Gav, Brad
Saturday was the big day!!  We had to be at the school at 1:30 for refreshments and photos.  At 2:30 we were allowed into the seating area.  At 3:00 PM the music started and the graduates came marching in...
Papa Carl got him a cool KuKui nut lei and put it on him as he passed by-
Let's get this show on the road!
It was a short and sweet ceremony.  With only 100 kids, it didn't take long.
There he goes....the last walk of 8th Grade!!!
And it's Done!!!  Congrats to my Straight- A's 8th Grader who is now a HIGH SCHOOLER!!  Wha??????

So, we got the Bug an IPod touch.  He was so excited to finally have 21st Century technology!
He can take it to DC next week and use it to take pictures, listen to music and face time his mommy!
 Gav & Anna (his crush...)
 VIRGINIA!!!  Such a good buddy!
 Tall Aaron
 McAndrew!!!
Mr. Gallagher!  Gav's favorite teacher AND he is moving up to the High School to teach 9th Grade Science.  Fingers crossed he gets him again!
It didn't seem very weird that he was leaving middle school.  Especially since the High School is the next building over.  But it is weird to think that he will be in High School.  He has grown and learned so much these last 3 years.  I hope the next 4 will be just as rewarding.  So proud of my Bug and Love him so much!

Last Day of 8th Grade!

Friday was Gav's last day of Middle School.  He had a half day, so Jeremy and I picked him and 5 of his friends up from school and took them to pizza and to see-
We had a great time and the movie was VERY COOL!  It was not my favorite Superman movie, but it was action-packed!  I liked the casting and the back story.
Afterwards, his buddies came back to our house and hung out.  Can't believe he is off to High school next year!

Happy Birthday Papa!

Tuesday was also Papa's Birthday!  We were gone Tuesday night, so we had a party at The Ranch on Wednesday to celebrate!  Woo Hoo...Papa...We Love You!

Old Town Field Trip

Last Tuesday, Luke had a field trip with the Webelos to Old Town.  Cali, Brody and I got to tag along.  It was a great day!  It started with boarding the Coaster in Carlsbad.
Love looking out the window at the ocean...
 We made it!
First stop - Mormon Battalion Visitors Center.  We did the tour and Luke and Cali both got picked in the General Store.

 We panned for gold...

And Brody was so excited about his 2 pieces of gold,  He offered to pay for lunch.
He was so bummed when I told him that the gold wasn't REAL!
But he got over it when we got to have lunch at our favorite restaurant, Barra Barra Saloon.
My Favorite - Carnitas Flat Bread Tacos
We went through a few more museums that the boys needed for their Old Town patch, hit up the candy and root beer store, before hopping back on the train and headed home.
The weather was nice, cool and over-cast.  It was our first trip of Summer.  Can't wait for more!

YARD SALE!

Last Saturday, we had a Yard Sale to raise money for Girls Camp.  We didn't get a lot of donations from the ward, and a lot of the girls were busy that weekend, but we pulled it off anyway!  It was a long, hard day, but I think the girls had fun.  We raised just under $400.  Next year, (if I'm still Pres.), we will do it the old fashioned way, tell the girls the cost, and have them raise money on their own.  Lesson Learned!
On a side note- Cali was my biggest helper and put in the most time.  She earned a spot at camp, I think...

Fun with Friends (Old & New)

When I was growing up, we went to Lake Powell every year with the Bauer and Harris families.  Thanks to Facebook, we have been able to re-connect and it feels like no time has passed at all!  BreeAnn was a crazy, cute fun-loving tween/teen back then and Cass was just a sweet little girl!  Thursday night we all got together at Ruby's on the pier, because BreeAnn and her fam were vacationing in Carlsbad for the week.  Now, we are all grown-ups and our kids hit it off!  The kids had so much fun playing games and running around the place, while all of us "grown-up" caught up and had a blast hanging out!  I'm so glad we were all able to meet up and can't wait to do it again.  There are no pics of the adults, because Cass says we can't take any pics of her while she's pregnant (even though she's the cutest pregnant lady ever)!  Plus, on Friday I got to join BreeAnn and the fam at the beach!  We were anxiously awaiting Cass' text telling us the gender of her baby.  SHE IS HAVING A BOY!!!!!!!  YAY!!!!!
That was an excellent end to an excellent week :-).
