Sunday Dinner at the Compound

Some of my most favorite words are... "You guys want to come over for dinner?"
And when those words come out of Kaci's or Brian's mouth, the answer is more the yes...it is YES!!!
Brian made an amazing, bacon, tri tip, brussel sprout and yam dinner.  Jeremy has been stepping up the dessert creations to match the dinner.  He made a chocolate chip cookie ice cream cake.  And as you can see, it didn't last long...
Then Jeremy has some fun feeding whipped cream to the girls...

They loved it!
And we love sunday dinners with our buddies!

Go Rebels!

Saturday was the first day of soccer season!
Cali is not playing any more, so Jeremy is coaching Brody's team this year.
They were winning 2-0 in the first half.  But, then the other team came back and the game ended with us losing 5-3.
It is a great group of boys and Brody is loving it!
So, here's where I will be every Saturday until November!  Yay!

Back to Work

How can I even call this work??
I get to spend everyday, from 8-2, with this wild child!
We had a great first day!  We went to Target, blew bubbles, read books and did crafts!

The boys are still home, so she had fun hanging out with them and bossing them around!
I think this will be my last year of watching the BB Girls.  I love it and am so glad I've been blessed to watch these sweet girls that I've grown to love so much!

High School

Yesterday (8/17) was Cali's first day of HIGH SCHOOL at Mission Vista.
I am still in denial that she is this old.  (and that I am too...)
She was nervous and excited.  I got up early and made her a big breakfast.  But her stomach was in knots, so she didn't eat it.  We left early, anticipating traffic and got to school in 20 minutes.  She saw her friend Alyssa and hopped up of my car, "Bye Mom!"
No long goodbye, no advice...she was gone.  I cried on the way out of the parking lot.
She had a smile on her face when I picked her up.  She had a great first day.  She's a little worried about PE, but is stoked about all of her other classes.  She even has Jon Umlor for her Lab/Bio teacher!
We celebrated with some froyo after school, then went out and did her most favorite thing-
School Supply Shopping!!!
Then, today, she started Seminary.  She made it!  Thanks to Gavin, who is being paid to take her and Chloe everyday-Yay!
And here is her Church to School Carpool-
Hoping she has a wonderful High School experience.  Love her so much!

First Class

Luke's Court of Honor was this week and he received his First Class Rank!  This kid loves Boy Scouts and can't wait to get his Eagle.  It's pretty cool having your dad as your Scout Master too!

WFBT 2K16

Day 1 - Thursday August 11th:
Our favorite tradition is back!  Its been 2 years since we were here at South Carlsbad SB.  We were able to get 5 days in site 181 AND the weather was phenomenal!!!
I spent the afternoon shopping for food, while the boys got us checked in and set up.  I love our "Hobbit Hole" tent and Daisy got some upgraded accomadations this year-
I got to the site just in time for the sunset and we dined on BBQ chicken and corn (Yum!)-

 Day 2 - Friday August 12th:
Brody and I were the first ones up.  I slept horribly.  Our air mattress had a leak and my back did not like it!  But this cutie climbed over to me and snuggled me for a little bit while we waited for everyone else to wake up-

It was a cool morning and we hung out for a bit waiting for the rest of the family to show up and play!
Around 10AM, we headed down to our beach spot and played ALL day!

During the day, Nana, Papa, Scrac, Meish and Heather showed up.  Then Felipe and Ben joined us for a super fun night of family and friends!

Side Note:  Cali had field hockey tryouts this week and found out on Friday that she didn't make it.  Mia was there with me when I picked her up.  She ran to Cali and made her forget all about the cuts.  I'm so glad Cali has her.  And I'm so sad and sick for my little girl.  But I'm so proud if the brave way she handled it.  Now, we will never speak of it again.
Scrac came every night to hang out and I'm so glad that he likes to hang out with Gav...
Day 3 - August 13th:
SATURDAY!!!
We woke up and it was already HOT at 7AM.  I made pancakes and then the kids headed down to the beach.  These 2 were so tired but so happy to play at the beach all day-
Ben got churro'd..

Luke got in his beach nap...
And then they made dribble castles...
And played with the football when Brody got back from his soccer game...
I was so hot and could not go in the water to swim.  I kept taking my chair down by the water line where it was cooler.  So, Jeremy came over and made me my own private island to enjoy...

And Meish came to visit me on my island...

Jeremy made us delicious BBQ sandwiches for dinner and then I took Mia home and stopped at my home for a shower...shhh!  I cheated!  When I got back to the site, I made everyone play Catch Phrase.  It was so much fun!  Meish & Benny went home, Scrac spent the night and then Gav's friend Aidan came for a sleepover.
Day 4 - Sunday August 14th:
The Day of Rest!
Finally, a day where everyone got to stay.  No practices, games or friends to go pick up/take home.  We woke up slowly and made everyone yummy breakfast burritos.  We made it down to the beach around 11AM.  And it was another gorgeous day...

Ramos was able to come join us.  Everyone loves it when Ramos and Aidan are with us.  Everyone plays!  And they played all day...

Jer evolved into sand...and a head...

The kids were hard at work building a beach front swimming pool...

 Oh Yeah!!!
Nana spent alot of time swimming and collecting rocks-
That night I made camping pizza!  It was delish!  But I have to make them one at a time.  So it takes a while.
But the kids stayed entertained by playing Quelf-

And they played until past 10PM!
Day 5- Monday, August 15th:
Check Out Day (sad...)!
Scrac, Nana, Papa and Gav's friends left Sunday night.
So, Monday morning, we got up and immediately started to pack up all of our stuff.
We were all so tired, dirty and crispy-
 And ready to go home!
This year was different from years prior.  I wasn't feeling my best.  We had to run kids to practices and games and pick up/drop off friends.  Not all of the Wilson Family could join us and Jeremy was a little grumpy because he had a rough week at work.
But I still deem this trip a success!  We had some really fun experiences and made some wonderful memories.
Can't wait for next year!
