Catrina returned home from her mission from Nashville, TN, on Wednesday April 22nd! Cali and I loaded up the Pilot on Friday morning and headed up to Utah for the Homecoming. It was so fun, just her and me! We had a blast together! Here she is filling up at our favorite stop for food & gas in Vegas, the ex-Flying J!
Our original plan was to stop in St George and stay at Hotel Francis. But, Keri Miller had left her laptop at her parent's in Vista. So, we drove straight through to Springville, so that we could meet her and give it back. But, she texted while we were driving and told us to just wait until Sunday, because she was going to be at the Homecoming. Oh Well! We already made plans to stay with Jordan and Kerrisa. We arrived at their house around 7:30. They were in the process of moving! Yep! And we got to help by watching all the little ones-
It was so fun playing with the girls and helping with the move. We helped move them into the Martinez home and then we head out to find some grub! And we found Cali's favorite spot-Olive Garden!!!
We also found some stores that we love and did some serious shopping!
It was raining cats and dogs and was pretty cold outside. We were pretty beat and needed to slow down. So, we went to Harry & Stella's and got checked in. Then we headed over to Bree and Marsh's to see their new little one, Navy Brielle. She is absolutely beautiful!
That night we hung out with Harry and Stella. They are so fun! Harry made me some "not coffee" and it was delicious! He cracks me up!
Sunday morning, Cali and I were up nice and early. We got ourselves in our Sunday clothes and drove up Parley's up to Park City for the Homecoming. On our drive up it was snowing!!! I was not expecting that! We got to the church about 15 minutes early. I was able to say hello to all the family and meet Colby's girlfriend, Kenzie. And then, I saw her! She walked in the chapel, we made eye contact, and then we raced to each other and hugged and cried. It was awesome! She gave a wonderful talk and I was amazed by her. She has grown up so much and has become such a beacon of love and wisdom. My Trini is home!
After Sacrament Meeting, we all went to Kev's to hang out and have brunch. Once all the guests left, it was just us "family". We spent the afternoon playing games. Marshall taught us the most insane way to play Monopoly. It was fun for a while, but then became way too complicated...
Plus...it took FOORREEVVEERR!
I got to meet and hang out with Kenzie. She is the One! Yep! Colbs is so happy and so in love. Everyone kept making wedding plans and whispering about honeymoon and shower plans. No official announcement or ring yet, but stay tuned! She is awesome and I think I love her too!
Kenzie wanted us to play the flour game...
And she lost!
It was so fun hanging out with the fam! Graham was getting lots of loves from all his aunties and uncle.
I feel so lucky and blessed to be considered part of this family. I love them all so much and yes, #myheartisfull. Kev convinced me to stay with them that night and I'm so glad we did. I needed a nice good night's rest to prepare for the long drive home the next morning.
And here's what it looked like out our window when we woke up-
I thought it was Spring!!!
The view out the back windows of Kev's place...
We said our goodbyes and thank yous...and then we were off! Here's some snapshots of our drive out of Promontory...
By the time we made it to Provo, it was nice and sunny. We stopped at Magleby's for some breakfast...
And hung out with our favorite Sister Missionary, Sister (Becky) Andrus! She is the best! She will be engaged soon too! It might be a busy summer of weddings...can't wait!
It was a quick 4 day trip. But I am so glad we went and so happy for the fun memories Cali and I made together!
