50 years of Comic-Con! Year 16 for us!

So, when badges went on sale, we were able to get badges for all the kids, but not for Jeremy and I.  I was pretty bummed, but was just glad that the kids got to go.  Her Universe offered to get me badges, if I helped with the Fashion Show, so I was going to do that.  But I sent Comic-Con an email asking if I could get badges for the days my kids were going and they agreed to let me purchase them for the same days!  So yay!
July 18th, the kids and I loaded up, Gavin cosplayed and RWBY, and we drove down to our parking lot in Liberty Station.
 #TealShuttleForLife
We planned to do the Exhibit Hall for the morning hours.  I had everything planned out.  Just like I used to do.  We made some fun purchases right away and got some fun swag.
Like, the Lego Booth was doing this cool thing where you could create your own character and be featured in your own comic book.  They printed out the books right there and we also got to build the cahracters.  Isn't mine cute?

I had a few other booths to hit after Lego, But the kids were done.  They wanted out of the Hall.  It was way crowded.  So, up we went to wait in the Room 6A line for the Spongebob Anniversary Panel.  It was a beautiful day and we ate our lunches while waiting in line.

Cali scored this cool literature Mystery Box.  It was filled with fanstasy books and swag.  She was excited!  We sat through a a cool document-series called, "The Toys that Made Us".  It was really cool about toy collectors and how their collections shape their lives.

The Spongebob 20th Anniversary Panel was so much fun!
The whole cast was there and we got to do a sing-a-long to "Sweet Victory"!  Loved it!

After Spongebob, We made the trek to the Hyatt to get in line for the Her Universe Fashion Show!  They changed how they did it this year and they handed out wristbands.  Because Gavin went to do a meetup with RWBY, he missed getting a wristband.  So, he came over and had dinner with us while we waited for the show to start.  Then he went off and did his own thing.
The Fashion Show was amazing as always!

We had so much fun and just can't believe what these people come up with!
Because we were busy all day, we did not wait in the Hall H line.  Luke really wanted to get into the Russo Brother panel Friday morning, so we ran down to the line after the fashion show to see if there were any wristbands left.  AND THERE WERE!  So, we got banded and headed home for the night.
Honestly, it was kind of a weird day.   The kids were in funky moods and it just wasn't as fun and easy going as usual.  I felt really bad.  But getting the wristbands seem to end everyone's day on a high note.
FRIDAY JULY, 19TH!
We were up EARLY!  We needed to get in line for Hall H before 7:30 AM to be guaranteed getting into the Hall.  We left at 6:00 AM and raced to our parking lot.  The shuttle was pulling up as I parked, so we jumped out of the car and ran on.  Which also meant that I left my phone in my car!  Doh!
We got to the Convention Center around 6:50.  By 8, we were in the tents.  Cali decided to skip Friday, so it was just me and my boys.  We made it in by 10 and got our favorite spot.  The Russo Brothers panel was not what we expected, but was really cool.  They ended their panel by giving out autograph t-shirts!  Brody was able to get one and shake hands with Jo Russo!  He was so stoked!
Then we had to sit through 2 Walking Dead panels.  I was not excited about this.  But then Chris Hardwick walked out as the moderator and Hall H went crazy!  It was so good to see him back at the Con!  I spent most of the panels in line for the bathroom and lunch.  But that was cool with me.  I stole some of Gav's pics that he posted, since I didn't have my phone.
While I was trying to get back into the Hall after the bathroom, I ran into the OG Hall H Family!  Rena and Justine!  And Justine's fiance who I always forget his name.  It was so fun to see them and just outside of Hall H too!
After the Walking Dead panels, we got "The Witcher".  Whoa!  This looks amazing and incredibly inappropriate.  But Henry Cavill is playing the main character, Geralt.  So that was fun to see!
We ended our day in Hall H with the Dark Chrystal panel.  Taron Egerton voices the main character and then Mark Hamill came out!  He voices the Scientist.  The panel was great and we got to watch the entire pilot episode!

Then, SDCC came out and surprised Mark with the Comic Con Icon Award.  It was so cool to be there for that.
I raced back to my car after The Dark Chrystal and got my phone.  The boys did one last walk through of the Exhibit Hall.  I came back and we spent some time in the Lucasfilm pavillion.

And got some last minute shots before it closed down for the day...

That was it!  We only got Thurs &  Fri badges this year.  I had such a great day with my boys!  Hope to be back next year!  But you never know!  Year 16 ended up being real good to us!
Saturday July 20th-
BONUS DAY!
Because of the 50th Anniversary of Comic-Con, the new Comic-Con museum in Balboa Park was doing some special exhibits.  One being the celebration of 80 years of Batman.  It was free to go to, so these 2 decided they wanted to go check it out with me.

The whole place was full of history and memorabilia...

They also had some fun interactive stuff-

After a couple of hours there, we headed back downtown to "The Punch Bowl" for a D23 mixer to celebrate 80 years of Spiderman!

This place is so cool!  We got free food, drinks, bowling and did a scavenger hunt!

We even got to meet Spidey himself!

The swag??  Not awesome.  But ok.  And Free!
Another great mixer and great day with my boys!

The last night...

For our last night with the Holbrooks, we went to see Matilda at the Moonlight...

It was such a fun play!  But we had to say goodbye when it was over.  Miss them already, but love them so much and have so much fun when they come to visit!

Huzzah!

We wanted to do something super fun while Becky & the kids were still here, so we headed up to Medeival Times!

We got assigned the Green Knight - AGAIN!  Every time I go, we get the Green Knight.  So awesome!
I'm pretty sure that Becky and I were the most excited to be there!
And I love how pretty much the whole family got to go!
 Let's get this party started!!!
Clover wanted to sit between Cali and I!  Stoked!  She had the most fun out of all of us!

 Mmmm...baby dragon and Pepsi!

The Green Knight ended up being the bad guy!  But we totally were the best cheering section in the whole place!  So, he made it to the final battle and lost.
But he gave Clover a flower because she is a maiden of grace and beauty!
We got to take a pic with our Knight...
As we were leaving, Clover said, "This is the Best (K)Night Ever!"  And it totally was!
