IB Birthday!

For Jeremy's birthday this year, he wanted to go somewhere we had never been, that was close by and that had the ocean.  That was a challenge, because we have been pretty much everywhere close by with a beach!
But I found a Marriott with a great deal down in Imperial Beach.  We've never been there, so I booked it!  The first weekend in February, we headed down.
The hotel was amazing and right on the sand!  The restaurant on site had rad reviews, so we ate dinner there and Jeremy swears it is one of the top 5 best burgers he has ever had!  We sat at the best table in the place with the best views of the ocean waves crashing.
I wish I had taked a pic of the room, because it was awesome!  I had a booked a "partial ocean view" room, but it was a full ocean view room and we were so excited.
We woke up on Saturday and set out to find some breakfast.  Not a whole lot of restaurants were open for dine in and it was hard to find one open for breakfasts.  But we did find a cute little smoothie place that also had breakfast sandwiches.  We got our food to go and went and sat out on the jetty and ate it.

Then we took a nice walk on the beach down to the pier.

It was a beautiful day!  IB is very quiet, slow and quirky.  We really enjoyed checking it out.
This is me enjoying a pepsi and the ocean view on our balcony...

Imperial Beach is the last city in the US before Mexico.  We tried to walk to the border, but got bored,  But we could see it!

Then we found a TJ dog restaurant right across the street from our hotel.  Are you kidding me?  It was so good!
Saturday night, we watched the sunset on the beach and had dinner at a yummy mexican food restaurant,

It was such a fun getaway!  We loved this place and will be back, when there's waves.  We checked out Sunday morning and raced home for the Super Bowl!
Happy Birthday Honey!

1st week of February

 Cali has been struggling.
With Everything.
She was having an exceptionally hard week, so I flew her home for some Home Medicine.  I picked her up on Monday, Feb 1st from LAX.  We stopped at Downtown Disney for a delcious lunch.
And got some treats!

That week, she helped me watch the kids and they were so happy to see her!

And everyone else was too!

She left on Friday the 5th, so we had a date night with our girls on Thursday night at Yellow Deli to say goodbye.

I wasn't sure if bringing her home would be the best thing for her.
But, it turns out it was.
She was able to go back to Utah and get things sorted out.
She still struggles with anxiety and depression, but she is making decisions and choices that are helping her.  I am so proud of her and how she is growing and facing the hard things.  She is a tough cookie!  Love her so much!

Carter's getting married!

On January 28th, Carter officially asked Kaitlyn to marry him!
She said yes!
Duh!
We got to be in Arizona to witness these 2 get hitched on May 1st!
So happy!

Semester 1 - DONE!

 January 21st-
These 2 finished their first semester.  To celebrate, we went to In N Out.
I am so proud of them.
It has been the worst school year, with back and forth school, distance learning, and struggle after struggle.  But they did it!
Here's hoping we get to go back to school during the 2nd semester.

January 20, 2021 - Inauguration Day

I can't remember if I have written anything about the election of 2020.  Let's just say, it was awful.  Donald Trump v. Joe Biden.
It has completely torn the country apart.
If you support Trump, you are deemed a racist, bigot, xenophobe, sexist, etc.
And then there is Biden.  A complete puppet, who stands for nothing, can barely form an articulate sentance and basically won the election, because more people hate Trump than him.
So, Joe Biden is now our president.
Trump supporters were outraged, claiming voter fraud.
And at a Trump Rally on Jan 6th, a bunch of idiots stormed the Capitol Building to try and stop the rattifying of the election.
People died.
It was a mess.
Trump was blamed and Congress vowed to impeach him, even after his loss.
But on January 20th, President Biden was sworn in.
It was, meh.
But there was a poem read that I loved.  And in it was this:
It has been an absolutely insane year.
I really hope that people will try harder to be better.

Cali Weekend

I found out that Allegiant Airlines has a cheap flight from LAX to Provo!  So, for the 3 day MLK weekend, I flew up to visit my girl!
I took an Uber to Thread Wallets so that I could see where she works!
She has the best job and co workers!

On Friday night, I took Cali, Chloe and Victoria to the Ice Castles in Midway!
And we went on a sleigh ride!

It was magical!  And I had the best time on this adventure with these girls!
On Saturday, we slept in and then I took the girls to visit Grandma.
She looked so good and was so happy to see us!

The girls had a ward activity that night, so I hung out with Grandma while they went Ice Skating.
On Sunday, we drove up to visit our Bauer family!  We didnt stay long.  They all had plans.  But we got to give them all hugs!

We had some time to kill and we went into Park City for lunch and had some yucky fish.  We stopped at Wal Mart and I did some shopping.  We drove down to Isaac & Sarah's and I made them dinner.

I had to fly back home on Monday. I am so glad I got to have this weekend!  I love spending time with all of these people, but especially Cali.

Hailee turns 4!

 What the Heck!?!
How in the world has it been 4 years since this little ball of joy was born?
To celebrate, we had a Nightmare before Christmas / Minnie Mouse Birthday party!

We got her a dance bag and some tutus because she is going to start dance this year!
Gavid and Kristin got her a Jack and she was so happy!

There was a pinata of course!

And we all had fun just loving on this girl on her special day!

HBD Hailee Rose!
