Alani Claire House Concert

Last night, I got to take the YW to Escondido to enjoy a little concert given by The Christensen family.  I got to see my good friend Nicole after almost 20 years!!!  

 She has a beautiful, talented daughter who has been recording music for the last 3 years.  She has written a few new songs, and had a musician friend in town from Alaska.  So they put on a little concert in their front yard.

 And look who else came?  SHAFFER!!!!  I was so excited to see her and meet her new little one...

 Only 3 of our girls came, along with Candace Nielsen, but we all enjoyed ourselves!

 Alani has an amazing voice.  We were excited to get a pic with her at the end of the night.  This way we can prove we met her when she's famous!

FHE - Beach Style

When I was growing up, we spent all of our Summer FHE's with the Grub Club and their families.  Jeremy and I have tried for years to get that tradition up and running again.  Thanks to my fellow Grub Club Alumni, the Bronsons & the Gemmells, we have renewed the tradition!  Monday night was the inaugural event!  Terry went down early and saved the pit all day.  Kaci, Tami and I and the kids all headed down throughout the day.  

 Around 5ish, we all gathered around the campfire to roast hot dogs...

 And then more people began to show up...

 We had so much fun roasting weenies and marshmallows...

 And Kathy and I taught everyone how to make chocolate cake inside of an orange...

 Jer got in some surfing and even got little Hunter up on his first try!

 It was so much fun hanging out with all our buddies...

 Getting warm by the fire...

 And watching all the kids play, just like we used to do back in the day!

So, join us!  Every Monday night, North Jetty of the Harbor.  We are sticking with this tradition all Summer long!

Family Pictures 2014

 My beautiful friend, Renee Clancy has been in town for a week because she is a wedding photographer and had 2 San Diego weddings.  We went out last Friday night, and she offered to take family pictures for us while she was here.  Her mom lives in a castle...no really...a castle, in Fallbrook.  So, after church on Sunday, we headed out there and she took our pics.

We had a great time with her and she did such a great job!  They all turned out awesome!

V10YW Hiking Torrey Pines

 These girls want to hike.  I promised to find fun hikes in the area and take them every other month.  Saturday was our hike to Torrey Pines State Park.  It was a cool morning and a beautiful day!  

 First, we headed down to Razor Point...

 We took a moment to enjoy the view...

 And break/destroy the fence!

 Next, we headed down the beach trail...

 We stopped at the point that leads to La Jolla and had lunch and enjoyed the scenery...

 Then the sun came out.  We decided to head back up before it got too hot...

 They did it & loved it!  One hike down...9 more to go!   I love these girls!
