bb3 turns 3!

Last Friday, March 3rd, was the big day!
We started the day with a special pink birthday doughnut!

This girl loves the color orange, and had to have an orange birthday crown and horn!
She wanted to go to the beach again!
I dug her a hole, filled buckets of water, built a village and wall that she could destroy...
I also turned her into a mermaid and we walked to the jetty to throw rocks into the water!
I'm pretty sure she loved her day!
That night, we headed over to the compound for her party.  She opened her gift from us as soon as we got there...
And she was stoked to get play doh!
I love this little sassy queen!  She is so fun and I am so blessed to be able to hang out with her almost every day!

March!

March is here and it is Beautiful!
We have had more rain this winter than I can remember!  It has been awesome and needed, but I'm ready for the Sun!  Last week, bb3 and I headed to the beach to celebrate!

And Lisa and Evalyn joined us!
Bring on the sunshine!

Sweet Baby Rae

Last Wednesday, Feb 22nd, I got the most awesome text (the pic above!)
Colbs and Kenz got their little baby girl!
 Rae Bauer -
Born 6:59 AM; 6lbs 6oz; 19 in
Pure Perfection!
Then Kev texted me this-
She is absolutely beautiful and such a blessing to this family!
Kenz did awesome.  Her water broke at home in the middle of the night.  Got to the hospital and only had to wait 45 minutes before pushing.  No drugs...way to go Girl!
Colby sent me this pic, the next day as they were about to leave the hospital, with the flowers we sent them...
I am so happy and excited and can't wait to meet this new little angel!
I'm a GrandNanny again!

Run Away Weekend!

Things have been a little tense and crazy with the 2 of us lately.  Both of us have a lot going on and haven't been communicating well.  So, I planned a mini-moon to Laguna Beach for Presidents Day Weekend.  The problem, it was also a stormy, wet weekend.  But we needed to get away.
We started with a workout trip to Planet Fitness.  I'm still carrying quite a bit of baby weight, so I need to get back to fitness. I put in 45 minutes and totally hated it.  But, hey, its a start.
We came home, showered and headed up the coast to our destination.  We couldn't check into our hotel until 3, so we had plenty of time.  We stopped in San Clemente for lunch at Pedro's tacos.  Then we made a pit stop at Salt Creek and took a nice walk on the beach.  The rain had stopped and the view was beautiful!
It was cold and windy, but oh so pretty!
And we left all of our cares behind and just loved on each other!
No Hurries, No Worries!
We made another stop at Aliso Creek and watched the huge, pounding beach break!  Jeremy wanted to body surf so bad!
We got to Laguna around 2:30 PM.  We called our hotel and asked if we could check in early and they said yes!  So, we checked into the Laguna Brisas Hotel, right on the PCH across from Bluebird Beach.  And the sweet girls in the lobby, hooked us up with a sweet upgrade, and we got a room with a jacuzzi and an ocean view!
We headed up to the roof to take in the sunset on our first night!
We walked into town for a yummy dinner at Brussels Bistro and took the trolley back to the hotel for a comfy night in our room.
Sunday morning, Jeremy wanted to check out Stacks Pancake House in Dana Point for breakfast.  Unfortunately for me, I woke up full of snot and a sore throat.
So, while we were waiting for our food, I felt so sick.  I ordered safely and got oatmeal, while Jeremy got something amazing.
My oatmeal was just what I needed and I felt so much better after I ate!
I was ready to explore!
We headed to Thousand Steps Beach-
Again, it was cold and windy, but oh so beautiful!

I really wanted to get a close up of the cave, but these dorks were sitting right in front of it eating and drinking beer...
And of course, once they finally left, they left all of their trash.
So, Jeremy and I climbed over and picked up all the trash and took a rad pic of the cave...Yay!

 Love this place!
After our beach exploration, I was beat!  So, we headed back to the hotel for a nap!
After our naps, we took a nice walk to Nick's for dinner!  Always the yummiest food!
The Trolley dropped us off at Bluebird, so we headed down to look at the waves all lit up on our last night...
Monday was Presidents Day and our check out day!
I still had a little cold, but was feeling better that the day before.
After checking out, we stopped at Treasure Island Park...

And we hiked around the point to take in these amazing views and treasures:

The sun popped out and warmed us up!  It was a spectacular day and wonderful way to end our much needed weekend together away!

Happy Hearts Day!

It fell on a Tuesday this year.  So, with work and school, it was hard to make it extra special, but I tried my best.  I woke up to a lovely note from Brody (above).  That started the day out nicely.  I spent the day making crafts and playing with Brynlee.  Then I got to go to the dentist...yay!  But it went ok.  I laid out treat bags and cards for the fam while I was gone, so that they would get a fun surprise when they got home from school/work.  After my dentist appt, I ordered pizza from Round Table and surprised my loved ones!
They were stoked!  It was just a sweet, low-key day.
Then we headed over to the McEwan's to celebrate Carter's 18th Birthday!
He just submitted his mission papers yesterday....
So crazy that our boys are adults!
Love him so much!
