Labor Day Mini Moon

So, Jeremy has been feeling a little left out since all of my adventures have been without him recently.  Plus, we never got an Anniversary getaway in May.  This weekend was Labor Day Weekend and it is the only weekend in the next 3-4 months (+) that we do not have some sort of soccer or football game to attend.  We dropped off the kids at my parents on Saturday afternoon and headed down the coast to Old Town.  We stopped in Cardiff on the way, and had dinner at Bull Taco at the San Elijo Campgrounds.  The view and the food were both delicious!

Once we got to Old Town, we checked into the Courtyard Marriott.  The girl at the desk was so awesome and hooked us up with a free upgrade to a suite.  Jeremy had mentioned that it was our belated Anniversary celebration, so she hooked us up and had a cute cheese platter delivered to our suite.  It was so cool!  We just hung out and watched Gaffigan all night, before zonking out!
Sunday we woke up to a beautiful San Diego Day!  We had an awesome Mexican breakfast in Old Town and then headed to Coronado for a day of bike riding.  I loved it!  We had so much fun and the weather was perfect!
Here we are with our bikes-

Me & My Baby

We followed the bike path around the village and golf course.  Then we cut through some neighborhoods to look at the pretty houses and then headed down to the beach.  We laid on the beach for a while and took a swim, before heading back down the path.  Here's our cute bikes parked next to each other.  Jeremy said they look married :-)-
We started to head down to the strand and decided to take our "own" path.  That didn't work out so well.  Jeremy took his bike into the dirt and got a whole bunch of thorns stuck in his tires and they both went flat (doh!).  So, I got on my phone and found the closest bike shop.  We had to walk our bikes up a few blocks, but we got the tires fixed!  We finished off our day in Coronado, by riding back along the beach and naval base, to our car.  We then headed to Danny's Pub for the "Best Hamburger in San Diego".

It wasn't exactly the best, but it was good.  And the place was a really cool old school Navy bar.  We were so tired from the riding, we passed out hard that night.  But it was such a fun day!
Today was Labor Day and we slept in and checked out of our hotel.  We headed down the street to an old school diner called Perry's for some yummy breakfast.  Jeremy got a bacon waffle!!

After our breakfast, we headed down to the Embarcadero.  There was so much happening today!  We headed to the International Sand Sculpting Competition.  Here are some of my favorites-

It was also the Festival of Sail today.  We were too cheap to buy tix, but we got a pic w/ one of the tall ships in the background:
After our Sand adventure, we strolled along the waterfront and peeked at the USS Midway, before heading into Seaport Village.
It was so nice to hang out with my hubby!  He's so much fun and I'm so glad we decided to run away together this weekend!
