Cali's Piano Recital 2012

Cali loves playing the piano!  And I love that she loves playing!  Tonight was the Annual Sister Frame Piano Recital at the church.  She played 2 songs and I guess she messed up a bunch (according to her), but I didn't notice-

This is her 3rd Certificate-
And she LOVES her teacher:

And, to honor our after party tradition, we made a Frutto's run for some frozen yogurt.  This time, we were joined by Destiny and her family!
Yay Cali!

Kindergarten Promotion

Didn't I just do the First Day of School Post?  WOW!  It's over!  Brody had such a great year!  He was blessed with such a great teacher (Mrs. Robinson), made such great friends (Max & Mitchell) and excelled so well and learned so much!  We are so proud of him!  Here are some highlights from his "promotion" today:

After the ceremony, we headed to IHOP (of course) for brunch!  Gammy got Brody a pack of fortune cookies and $10!
 Thanks Gammy!  (& Papa!)
Promotion + Pancakes = A Fantastic Day!  Yay!

Dinner and a movie...

For Christmas, Maya and her kids got me a gift card for Cineopolis.  We wanted to use it for our Anniversary, but there wasn't any movies we really wanted to see that weekend.  But this movie came out this past weekend-
Pretty (&) Cool!
We broke out the gift card and had ourselves a wonderful night!
We got all cozy in our RECLINER seats.  Then we ordered a delicious dinner while the previews played.  Jeremy had a yummy burger and I had steak sliders and sweet potato fries- Oh Yeah!  We got to enjoy our dinner, while we enjoyed the movie.  It was a really cool movie!  It was very well done, the locations and cinematography were beautiful!  The casting was well done too!  When it was over... I did not want to leave!
I was so comfy in my chair.....I could have totally rolled on over and fallen asleep for the night.  This is a great way to watch movies.  Too bad it's so dang expensive!  We won't be doing this again without a gift card.

Another Adobe Field Trip...

This is my 3rd time joining 3rd graders at the Rancho Buena Vista Adobe.
Team "Neon"
I had these fun little rascals in my group- Anna, Julia, Luke, Luis M. and Wade.  This time, we got to do different things than I have done in the past.  Like, we got to do some branding-

 We made candles....

 And did some roping!

I'm so glad the field trip was on a Wednesday, so that I could go with Lukey!

It's beginning to feel a lot like....

SUMMER!!!!
Memorial Day - May 28, 2012
Well, today, not so much....
BUT-on Memorial Day, we met the McEwan clan down at the Harbor and had ourselves a gorgeous beach day!  I only had my phone, so, this is the only picture.  School is out in 3 days and I CAN"T WAIT!

RBVHS POPS - Kids Party!

On Saturday, I returned to the RBVHS gym for the kids concert matinee.  The kids dressed up (Cali as a princess, Brody as 1/2 Darth Maul and Luke as a Jedi).  It was really neat!  The band kids were dressed up in different character costumes and they had a little tour type thing set up.  Each instrument had a table and all the little kids could go up to each table and learn about the instrument.  When they were done with each table, they got a stamp on their postcard and go to enter a raffle for cool prizes.  AND- Brody found a Stormtrooper!
We got to sit at Table #3 with Super Girl and her mom!
And the kids loved the music!  The bands played songs from the movies Harry Potter, How to Train Your Dragon, Jurassic Park, Pirates of the Caribbean and Star Wars.
We got yummy cookies and juice...
Brody had to put his mask on for "Duel of the Fates".

Oh Yeah!
When it was over...the kids were so bummed!  They loved it!  Luke said.."That's It?"  He wanted more!  Sarah did such a great job and looked so cute dressed as "Dorothy".  It was a great day!

16 Years!

Yep!  We have been married for 16 YEARS!  It is so true that time flies by when you're having fun!  We had planned to go away for the weekend.....but decided not to at the last minute.  The weather was not cooperating.  But we spent our Anniversary Evening at the RBVHS POPS Concert!

It was a fundraiser for Sarah's Band.  We got to enjoy a yummy Italian dinner and then got to enjoy a lovely concert.  They played songs from different movies.  The closing number was Star Wars and her Band Director dressed up as Darth Vader!  It was really neat!
Go Sarah!
On Saturday, we spent the day organizing the house and went out to dinner AGAIN at Phil's BBQ.  I had never been there, and I LOVED IT!
Then, we went and saw The Hunger Games.  It was a low key anniversary, but I got 2 date nights with the man I love!  That's pretty special!
