YW Super Hero Night

I have had this idea tucked away since I got my calling.  I looked all over the internet and pinterest to see if I could find an outline or lesson of some sort...but decided to make it up myself!  This month's topic in Sunday lessons, has been on the Plan of Salvation and Pre-Mortal Life.  Last week, I taught the lesson and read an article by Pres. Uchtdorf, about the influence and power of women for good.  That went with the Super Hero theme perfectly.  So, we met at the church and I read them some of Pres. Uchtdorf's talk.  Then we talked about Super Heroes and what qualities they possess.  I tied in that the YW values can be seen as our own Super Powers, that were given to us at birth.

Each girl picked a value to be her Super Power of the night.  I had felt in all the value colors, brought fabric markers and scissors, and they had to create their own costumes.  They had to come up with a name, logo and how they would use their powers to "save the world!"

There were just enough girls for each one to have a different value.  It worked out perfectly.  I think they had a lot of fun coming up with their "alter egos".
"The Love Doctor", "Little Seed", "Truly Candid", "Captain Awesome", "Lady Divine", "Super Knowledge" & "Lightning McMoral"

I was the only leader who participated....Here I am as "Super Sunshine" (Good Works).  My Super Power is to spread sunshine and happiness with service to others!!!

I love my Calling!

40

So, the day after the big party, was Jeremy's actual birthday and it was Sunday.  We were all so exhausted from the party, that we all slept in.  Thank goodness church doesn't start until 11:30.  I did get up and make him a nice birthday breakfast, and we all had a nice time at church.
When we got home, we feasted on left overs and just relaxed!  The kids all made cards for Daddy and then we gave him our gift-

Here he is reading his gift...we got him a surf charter.  Him and 4 of his buddies will get to spend a Saturday boating in to some breaks off of Point Loma, that you can't drive to.  He was stoked!

He spent the rest of the day playing Lego Rock Band with his boys-

It was just a nice, chill, fun family day!  Happy Birthday!  We Love You!

40 ROCKS!!!!

My Hubby is 40!!!
It's Official!
I asked him a while ago what he wanted to do for his 40th.  I REALLY was hoping he wanted to go somewhere...like Hawaii!  But, he said he wanted a party.  So, a PARTY was what he got.  It took a lot of planning and money.  And I kept most of it a secret and invited a lot of people.  After stressing out for a couple of weeks and because it had been raining the night before, Saturday arrived and the party went down and it was ROCKIN'!

I had received enough RSVP's for 80 people!  About 60 showed up and we had such a fun night!  It was freezing outside (ok, by California standards...), but thanks to my YOF, we had some fancy space heaters and a bonfire to keep us warm.  We also kept warm by dancing our butts off.  The yard looked awesome.  We had Rock n Roll themed decorations, a (fake) photo booth, food from L & L Hawaiian BBQ and a really fun DJ!

I think everyone had a great time...

I had a lot of dress up stuff and inflatable instruments to play with...

The highlight of the night was the amazing cake!  I did NOT make it...Crimson Cakes did!  And they did an amazing job and it was DELICIOUS!

It was 4 hours of solid fun with friends and family!  Jeremy loved his party and was so thankful for all the people that came to play with him.  This is my favorite pic of the night...

Rock Stars!  Jer & David
Happy Birthday Jeremy!  I really hope "40 Rocks!"

Sick Week

This week was a hard one.  We left Disneyland early on Monday, because Brody was feeling sick.  When we got home, his temp was 102!  So, I spent the next 5 days taking care of my baby.  He just had some viral thing that needed to take it course.  It was actually kind of nice, because all he wanted to do was lay down.  It was so sad, though, to see him feeling so sick.  And, needless to say, I didn't get a whole lot of sleep because of it.  But, I was able to have a few days off of work and get some much needed errands run for Jeremy's Birthday Party.
Friday, Brody was feeling much better, but I ended up keeping him home one more day, because he was still pretty lethargic.  Jeremy was feeling awful too on Friday and didn't have a voice.  So he called in a sick day. I came home from running errands to this...

My 2 little sickies were bored and were playing "Super Hero Hide n Seek".

"What are you going to do now?"

You know how after the Super Bowl, they ask the MVP-" So, so & so, you just won the Super Bowl, what are you going to do now?"  And they say, "I'm going to Disneyland!"?!  Well, we were sad...and Gavin had a 1/2 day...and the 2 little ones were home "sick" yesterday...SO, I picked Cali up early and we headed for some happiness at The Happiest Place on Earth.  Plus, we needed to get Flat Noah to Disneyland, so that we could take pictures for Noah's school project.
We were only there for a few hours, but it sure did put smiles on all our faces!

Hey Wilson Family....Your team just lost the Super Bowl...What are you going to do now?
We went to Disneyland!!!! Yay!

Super Bowl XLVII

It finally came!  Super Bowl Sunday!  One of my favorite days of the year!  But this year was special....because my Niners were finally back!  I've been waiting 18 years for this!  I got the house all nice and clean and all the food made Saturday night.  That way, I could spend all Sunday morning watching all the pre-game specials.  It was AWESOME!
We did go to church, of course.  And we all wore San Fran colors.  Cali even made me this beautiful necklace.
We did leave church early to come home and get ready for the big game.  Here we are ready for kick-off:

Jeremy even got his own Kaepernick jersey and put on his tats-
Then the Party People arrived!  All wearing SF colors-Woo Hoo!

The first half we were down 21-6!!!  It was brutal!  Then the Ravens came out in the 3rd quarter and scored a touchdown on the opening drive.  I thought it was all over....
Then, the lights went out!  Literally!  There was a power surge and the lights in the Super Dome went out!  The game was delayed 34 minutes!  It was insane!  Then, the Niners came back and almost won...except the stupid Officials missed a Holding call in the end zone and the Ravens ended up winning 34-31!  We did manage to get in 3 touchdowns in the second half and it was amazing to watch.  Here is Jeremy "Kaepernicking" after Colin's Rushing TD-
I was sooooooo bummed!
I wanted the 49ers to win sooooo bad!
But, it was a very exciting game.  And, I do like the Ravens.  So, I wasn't devastated (too much!).  I love football...and I love my 49ers!  Can't wait for next year!  We'll win it all (I Hope!).
