Movie Reviews...

Inspiring...

This movie was very well done.  It tells the story of the Tuskegee Airmen and their contribution to WW II.  It really shows the struggles African-American servicemen had to go through in order to prove themselves.  Gavin and Luke really enjoyed it...but Cali didn't like the scenes that dealt with getting wounded and when a pilot died.  Brody really liked the beginning and the airplanes...but other than that...it was over his head.  Good movie....

OK....it's Star Wars, so we're going to like it!  Even if we have seen it so many times before..

It was Epic! (According to the kids)

I really enjoyed seeing it on the big screen.  The 3D was ok...just that ok.  It did not "wow" me.  But it was very clear and I still got goosebumps on my favorite parts.  The kids absolutely LOVED seeing it...and I loved seeing their faces while they watched it.

Jer's 39th-Part 2

 I asked Jeremy what he wanted to do for his birthday, and he said he wanted to have a BBQ w/ friends and family.  So, on Sunday (2/12)...we threw him the partay!

 Then we had 2-tone cake and ice cream for dessert.  And after that, the brothers had to see who is tallest:

My mom, dad, SIL's & families came, as well as the Condes, Jer's parents and bro's and Jon.  It was a fun night and he was so happy and felt the love.  Happy Birthday Honey!  We Love You!

Episode I in 3D!

Darth Maul

 Last Saturday (2/11), we headed up to Tustin to see TPM in 3D!  It was released on Friday, but we waited to see it on Saturday, so that we could do the AMC 14 event.  We got there around 11 AM, got our tickets for our 12:45 show and then played in the lobby.  We hung out with the costumed characters of the local 501st.  We also got to help make a Darth Maul Lego Mural-

 Once we were done w/ all the activities, we headed inside and got in line for the show.  Because of the special event, we each got these cool little Star Wars Battle Pods-

 I made a little battle arena out of our lightsabers, and all the kids in line battled with their pods-

 Once we were let in the theater...we put on our cool podracer 3D glasses and enjoyed the movie!  It was cool to see it again on the big screen.  The kids LOVED it and I think I spent more time watching the looks on their faces, than I did the movie.  Here they are after the movie doing the lighsaber salute-

It was worth the hour drive to be able to have this special day with my kids.  I love making memories with them!

Jer's 39th...Part I

 Yesterday was Jeremy's birthday and the kids were so excited for him to get home from work, so that they could shower him with their gifts and cards!

 We also celebrated by going to Lamppost Pizza for dinner and McD's for dessert!  It was a fun family birthday night!  Next, we will be having a Family/Friend BBQ on Sunday (Part 2)!  Woo Hoo!

Mama Grizzly...Grrrr...Sniff Sniff...

Nothing hurts more than hearing your child tell you that nobody likes him and people make fun of him.  I'm just so glad he feels comfortable talking to me.  Luke has Sensory Processing Disorder and a mild form of ADHD.  So life can be harder to deal with sometimes for him, and others don't understand his behavior.  He also has a hard time dealing with his issues too.  He's learning ... and knows that these are things he will have to live with, probably his whole life.  We have been through training to help everyone in the family help him.  Things seem to get easier the older he gets.  But people outside our family, especially kids at school, can say and do things that hurt and make it harder for him to be able to deal with.  He can get very frustrated and also embarrassed, and can have "explosive" reactions, because that's how he thinks he can protect himself.  But Luke is also very sweet, caring and sensitive.  He's also very smart.  Tonight, we had one of our heart-to heart talks, where I had to build him up and give him advice on how to handle the hurtful things people say.  We also talked about how he is a child of God, and even though people might be mean to him, he can't be mean back.  I have tears in my eyes as I write this....my children are my world.  They are not perfect...but they are mine!  I hope that I can (with the Lord's help), give them the guidance they need to help them survive this cruel world and to just be Happy.

Movie Review...

A Fun Chick Flick!

The YOM and I got to go out Saturday night and have ourselves a GMN (Girls Movie Night).  She has read all these books and really wanted to see this movie, so I joined her.  I'll admit, I was a little worried, because classic Chick Flicks are not my thing.  But this was really fun!  It had lots of action and comedy and pretty people.

 When we took Gav to Medieval Times for his birthday, I signed up for the "Fan Pass".  Last week, I got an email from them saying that they had a new show and were offering their fan pass people a chance to see it for FREE!  So, I responded to the email and said I was interested in attending the Friday night show.  Late afternoon, on Friday, we got a response that said we could go!  Only Jeremy and I could go for free, but with the fan pass, the kids could get in for half off ($18).  Cali was at a slumber party, so we grabbed the boys and headed on up to Buena Park.  They LOVED it!

 We got assigned the Green Knight again, but he wasn't the bad guy this time.  It was lots of fun.....Luke was sooooooo into it!  But, we didn't get a picture of him.  I forgot my camera, so these pics are from Jer's Phone.
