This year, our stake is doing the Trek. But it's 14+. Luke is out ward's only 12-13 yr old scout. Jeremy is the Scout Master. So, we checked with the 1st ward a few months back and asked if Luke could join their group for camp. Eric Gemmell is the Scout Master and absolutely said yes! So, Last week, Luke spent the week with the 1st and 8th Ward Scouts at Camp Fiesta Island.
And he LOVED it!
He got 6 merit badges: Theater, Space Exploration, Modeling, Motorboating and Small Boat Sailing.
On Wednesday, they got a free day. Eric took a group of boys to Belmont Park for the day to play. Jeremy met them down there and got to play too.
He came home on Saturday all tired and stinky. Brody missed him so much!
I'm so glad he had a good experience. He also tried things and did things he wouldn't normally do. He also ate things he wouldn't normally eat, like ribs, chicken and Cinnamon Toast Crunch!
