Wilson Family Beach Trip 2015

This year's beach trip took place in Yachats, OR.
Mikey and his family, Nana, Papa, Scrac and Jeremy all arrived Sunday afternoon/night.  For breakfast on Monday (7/27), they brought us Voodoo doughnuts!  Yum!  I loved my maple-bacon bar.  Day 1-

After our nutritious doughnut breakfast, all the ladies, Becky, Mirian, Karen and I headed to Eugene to do all the shopping.  Here's some pics of the drive...pretty...

We took way too long to do the shopping and got proabably way more stuff than we needed.  But we had so much fun!  When we got back, Jeremy, our kids, Scrac, Adam and I went to check in to our Beach House.  Here it is - Shell Haven, Yachats, OR.  Isn't it adorable???
We had to do a walk-through with the property manager and got all the food put away.  Then we walked down to our beach to check it out-
MAGICAL!!!

Here's some pics of the inside of our home for the week-

Everyone else came down when we gave them the "all clear".  We were only supposed to have 10 people in the house.  So after the walk-through, we told everyone else to come on down.  Its about a 30 minute drive from Becky's.  Everyone got there and we all got settled in.  Jeremy, Mikey, Mirian and I hopped into the hot tub, once our kids were bed.  It was a good first day!
Tuesday 7/28 - Day 2!
 Good Morning!

After breakfast and some play time, we got all the kids dressed in matching outfits and took them down to the beach for a cousin pic...

I really wanted a nice pic of my kids.  But Lukey just couldn't handle the bright sun.  His eyes would not stay open.  And Brody has decided he doesn't like smiling with teeth.  But here's what I got-

We spent the next couple of hours playing down on "our beach".

In the afternoon, the beach gets really, REALLY, windy.  So we headed back up to the house for some games and naps-

It was Tuesday, so of course, Nana made tacos!  Tuesday Taco Night!!!
And Sidney's 3rd birthday is actually today (8/8), but we celebrated with everyone at the Beach House-
She wanted a princess party.  Nana brought princess dresses for all the little girls.  But Cali didn't have one.  So we made her one out of grocery bags, trash bags and duct tape.  Doesn't she look beautiful???

She loved her Minnie Mouse dress from us-
It doesn't get dark until like 10 in Oregon.  So we still had some daylight and drove down to Cape Perpetua to check out Thor's Well and the Spouting Horn at high tide.  It was so cool-

Here's my loves standing on the edge of Thor's Well...I was scared I was going to lose them...(pc-Scrac)

And I had to document this pic of the soda cans...its only day 2 people!
Wednesday 7/29 - Day 3
This was my favorite day!  I call it "Day of Discovery"!
Plus, we had the most amazing weather all week.  It was in the high 70's, low 80's.
We started the morning with a hike to Hobbit Beach-

Look at this place!  So worth it!
This beach was beautiful and warm!  We all had so much fun playing here!

After the Hobbit Beach, we drove down to the Heceta Beach Lighthouse.  Here's Papa taunting the kids with money...he is so awnry!
The hike up to the lighthouse was amazing...

There were even wild blackberry bushes along the trail that we got to eat...yum!

 We made it!

My timer on my camera got used for the family shot-
Then we took a tour of the lighthouse...

And Papa got all the kids ice cream from the gift shop-

This is the best pic ever!  Look at that happy girl on her uncle's shoulders eating her fudgsicle!  Haha!

I was way past lunch time, so we went back to the house and chowed down.  Some people were tired and stayed back at the house, while the rest of us went to check out the rest of Cape Perpetua.  Our first stop was to see Devil's Churn-

We hiked along the cliffs and explored all the tide pools-

We had fun playing in the driftwood forts-
And the scenery was breathtaking!  This place was so full of beauty and adventure!

 Making our own rock stacks-

 Building our own forts-

We pretty much explored all of the Cape, so we hiked back up the hill and drove to the top of the mountain for an amazing view of the coastline-

Becky and I really wanted to stay at the view point until the sun set, but people got hungry and wanted to get home.  So her and I ran down to "our beach" to catch the sunset...

It was an absolutely beautiful day!
Thursday - 7/30 - Our last full day
Jeremy and I got up and went for a nice walk along the beach in the morning.  And on our walk, we found this guy-
Mr. Krabs
Finding the crab made us all hungry for seafood.  We went into town and got ourselves a yummy fish lunch at Sea Luna Fish House.

Some of us really wanted to get in some shopping (not me - ugh!), so we decided to head up to Newport and Depoe Bay to do some souvenir hunting.  I fell in love with Depoe Bay.  It is known for its whale sightings, daily.  And it has the World's Smallest Harbor.  We started out going through the shops...

Then we tried to spot some whales...

We got to see a Coast Guard ship pull into the tiny harbor and the kids all waved at them-
This is the waterfront....

Cali was stoked because she got to buy some whale souvenirs and got to pose with this guy-
 See the water spout???
This is Jer's big purchase.  He has always wanted it (at least that's what he told me)-

When we got back, Gav enjoyed the new beard too-
Since it was our last night together, we all went down to "our beach" for one last time.  We played, built a fire and watched the sun go down...

We ended the night with homemade donuts and Tillamook ice cream-

Friday 7/31 - Time to leave...sniff,sniff.
Friday morning we all got up and packed up and cleaned the house.  We loaded up the cars and started to say goodbye.  I did not want to leave.  We had lots of leftover ice cream, so we let the kids eat it all before we left.  They were so happy!

The last family pic!  It was an amazing week full of unforgettable memories!  Can't wait for the next one.  We said goodbye to Mikey and his family.  The rest of us headed back to Becky's.
I had to get in one more view point before we left...

We got to Becky's around lunch time then decided to go sand boarding again, so that Jer and Scrac could experience it.  It was extremely windy this time!  But we still had so much fun!

This is how you survive the dunes...
That night, all the adults went out to dinner in downtown Florence-

I love hanging out with these guys!  Its always so much fun!
Saturday 8/1 - Time to go home.
Our wonderful Road Trip/Family Beach Trip had finally come to an end.  No one wanted to leave...
And Clover is really going to miss her favorite chair-
Jeremy and Scrac got to be with us on the drive home.  We drove to S. San Francisco on Saturday, then home on Sunday.  This was the best WFBT so far!  So glad we decided to do it in Oregon and discover so many beautiful places and make such awesome memories!
