We got home around 7:30 PM from Arrowhead on Dec 27th. I had such a bad migraine. But Jeremy and I basically dropped off the kids and threw some things together and drove up to Dana Point. I got him a weekend with me! It was dark and we were so tired from the day and my head was killing me, so we just passed out as soon as we got to the hotel.
Saturday Dec 28th -
Good Morning!
Jeremy got up early and went looking for surf. He didn't find any and came back for me. We walked across the street to Stacks for a yummy breakfast. Then we walked up the hill to a nice park overlooking the ocean and marina.
We fell in love with this place. Dana Point has always been a place you drive through to get to San Clemente or Laguna Beach. But we found out that it is so much more than that. We spent all day Saturday walking the Marina...
We walked all the way to the "Dana Point", where we went down to pretty little cove.
We walked ALL the way back to the hotel and got freshened up. We had an early dinner at JFAT...(yum!)
And then we discovered this!
The Harbor was all lit up for the Holidays! It was absolutely beautiful!
After seeing all of the lights, we went back to the hotel and watched Clemson beat Ohio State to advance to the National Championship against LSU! Go Tigers!
Sunday Dec 29-
We slept in and checked out. We had breakfast at another cool little restaurant, The Shwack! Then we went on an adventure to explore more of Dana Point. We parked at the Strand and walked down the hill to the beach walk and followed that until it ended at Monarch Beach.
The beach ended at the cliffs, but we kept going to see where we would end up...
We followed the rocks that hugged the cliffs...
And then we found ourselves another beautiful private cove...
We found a bunch of pretty shells to bring home and watched a few little teeny bop teen boys get busted by a security guard that was guarding a private community up on the cliffs. We hung out for quite a bit. It was so pretty and peaceful.
We walked all the way back to the car, in a round about, uphill way, because I thought it was a short cut. I was wrong. But we did make it back to the car and then headed home to our kids. It was a perfect way to the end the year. We love the time we get to spend together. Merry Christmas Honey!
